I'd go for something small and sporty if I were choosing some "dream car".
I'd not want something that stood out - too many loons these days wanting to have a pop at it.
I'd want something that was easy to park in small spots, with a roof that comes off and is cheap enough to run that I wouldn't have to calculate the cost to drive to the beach each time I even thought about taking it out
The "luxury" bit would have to be an electric roof .... rather than having to park up and fold it all away carefully, then reinstate it every time I parked....

Although perhaps this would be more practical in traffic

Correction.
Apparently I'd be living in a Castle with an entire menagerie of exotic animal species.
Is that a yes, 'Daddy'? :A0 -

I'm well aware.
I suppose it's moderately frugal (by comparison to a Ferrari anyway), safe, practical (given where we live), so perhaps she did actually listen to my lecture beforehand.... :whistle:If I was Mrs McT I'd have picked a Ferrari. Sod unicorns, zebras and so forth, give me a prancing horse any day.
Speaking of exotic animals, she did look at a Jag, but fortunately for our bank account didn't like it as much on the day.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I drove to Stanmore today. There are times driving a silver car that I think I wear an invisibility cloak. In the ten to fifteen miles to get there, I had...
1. White van man fly out a side turning straight in front of me while I was doing 60 on a dual carriageway. Had to swerve to avoid.
2. In traffic on motorway, driving along in slow lane when a !!!! in a Passat decided I did not have right of way and nearly rear ended me because he didn't know how to merge on a motorway.
3. Let a motorbike instructor and his two young charges out in heavy traffic. The two learners only avoided an accident due to quick thinking of others as neither waited at roundabout and both pulled out straight in front of other cars.
4. Some idiot in a tricked up Ford with a big exhaust drove across chevrons and slid sideways between three cars on a huge puddle and nearly hit me.

Well I haven't been out all day so probably not.

I hate tax returns

Looks like DW owes 21550 and I owe about 400 - whether I have the receipts to prove it is another matter.
Of course about 6 hours ago my family finances spreadsheet had a rough guess that we owed 22k so not a lot learned really
WE get bupa through my work, it costs 869 which is then taxed at 40% and this has pushed me over 50k costing me another 250 in lost child benefit. For outpatient treatment you get up to £1000 per year less a 200 excess - seems to be a bit of a rip off to me....I think....0
