Ah, mystery solved. If it stops you from stressing and having it hanging over your head, then good. We don't always need these things.
I am having internal rage today. I live in my own bubble of being nice and surrounding myself with the right people. It's inevitable that miserable time-wasters will infiltrate on occasion but my tolerance level clearly doesn't stretch beyond three of those in a 24 hour period. I'm on number 4.
If you are an irate driver who doesn't know how to control your emotions after making selfish displays of driving, an ignorant racist or the owner of a tool hire shop, I suggest you stay out of my way. Someone is going to get both barrels.
I'd like to breathe through this but I'm finding it impossible.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

( no big girls pants for good news....just fun pants.)
Big girl pants were needed to make sure I didn't say anything I'd regret on the callManaged that
It doesn't change me at all - wouldn't make me a better scientist or person. I've never really liked being 'labelled' anyway. Just the end of an era (though the door is still slightly ajar). I feel like a weight has been lifted already.
Not sure I'd exactly say I'm living the dream, but I certainly have more than I ever expected to. There are people in the world clinging to planes to try and get into this country...0 -
Glad it went okay Nikkster. Sounds as if it was the right decision
Doozergirl ((HUGS)) Sorry you're having a day full of stress-inducing people.
Gen I forgot to say Congrats to Mrs Gen. When does she start the new job?
Tch, been back from holiday a whole week now and still feeling slightly out-of-kilter. (We went to Scotland, so I wonder if "out of kilter" was a sort of Freudian slip-type of thing?)
Done some ironing today thoughAnd some hoovering. Surprising how much better the hoover worked when it occurred to me that there was a second filter which we'd never touched in the 12 years we've had the cleaner
Mr ivyleaf took it out the back and banged it hard several times (the filter, not the whole vacuum cleaner), and the thing actually picks up the dust again now :j

Odd question....
What was the advert decades ago for engine oil where oil dripped through channels of an engine that looked like a maze? Anyone know what I mean? Might be an 80s advert?0 -

Yesterday was my 55th Birthday. I had a lovely day. Celebration a huge success and i feel very content with the world. Food choices were at two different ends of the spectrum but both very good . Dinner at ROH, followed by mojitos back at the hotel. Breakfast was Black pudding, bacon with bubble & squeak in a Bap at Borough Market.
I also learned that I could not do a trip to London alone. Getting out of taxi's was hard , on getting in my left leg gave way a couple of times, getting off the train I needed assistance and staff tried to help me but caused me great pain ( My left arm "drew up" and it looked like I was offering it for the guard to hold when he then held it and lifted it a little it felt like my arm was coming out of its socket) not his fault but involuntary movement on my part. flights of stairs in random places. It hit home that my indepengence has changed for the long term, which is something I had not anticipated. I found getting around very tiring and abnormal movement switching in, which I don't much like. On the otherhand my fellow citizens were all a considerate lot as my difficulties made their presence known.0 -
Tough things, babies. We worry about them missing a feed, yet when there's an earthquake babies survive in the rubble for days.
Is that your Parenting Tip of the Day?
"If you can't afford to feed your baby, worry not, simply bury them under some bricks for a few days, until you get some money or food"?0 -
