Nothing, nothing, nothing and then all systems go.
Just exchanged on a BTL.
Could feature on HutH, but without the auction bit. It needs a lot of work and its about 100 miles away.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I can often show willing, I just fail to rank on end results when it comes to physical labour.0 -

If there is enough energy, the hay could have been moved quicker, so no.
. Afterwards you ache too much. This is cos its all old school small bales, so manual lifting for a lot of it. 0 -

Isn't the hay all done by machine? In those giant bales that look like a Swiss roll? Much too heavy to move by hand.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

No, we thought we were going to have to have those, but some one has offered to small bale for us. Small bales are a pain this one time a year, but through the year with horses, they are MUCH easier. They are not as popular with farmers because of the labour involve in bringing them in and stacking, but its the only way to sell to small scale horse people ( and small holders ) , so diminishing numbers of small balers is a bit of a problem for small scale keepers who want small bales.
As you say, round bales are a pita to move without machinery ( it can be done, but its messy and silly, and also possible are what we have had before which is even bigger square bales. They are fine for us here, but mean there is no potential for anyone to sell bales on.
We're splitting the hay with the guy making them, which is why he is prepared to small bale them.....he can sell the small bales on for tremendous profit. We only need about two hundred this year.0
