Charles Kennedy dies at 55. Scarily young. Just after he stepped down from politics, maybe some people can't cope without the stress.
Yes, scarily young. It's a shame, he looked like a good guy. A no-nonsense straightforward bloke. I found him to be quite funny when he appeared on Have I Got News For You. RIP Charles.

In other news, the 28C heatwave announced for Friday has been downgraded to 22-23C. :o

He lost his seat to the SNP, which is not the same as standing down. He didn't even get a Cheeky Girl, so I'm not surprised if he was quite depressed.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I suspect the drink got him.

The reports of his death that I've read have been very coy about how he died. That's not normally the case except when the circumstances of the death might cause stress or embarrassment to the family.

We know he was a heavy drinker and struggled with it. A good friend (very good friend) died in his early 40s of the same.

I'm happy to be corrected but everything I've read about death from alcoholism is that the decline, if it comes, can be sudden and rapid.
