Well after spending a good few hours this weekend making only a small dent into the humongous task of clearing out decades worth of accumulated junk I've lost motivation.

Suspect this is going to take months at this rate....

I know they aren't cheap, but would an induction hob be worth investing in Pastures? Can't remember whether we've discussed before, so apologies if we have. Something like this:

I also meant to ask how it is now you've got your new furniture in.

I think PN could probably manage with a single induction hob that just plugs into the wall socket, £27.

You can do all sorts of things with that - frying sausages, for example.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

That's brilliant zag! Didn't even know you could get single ones.

How do you know what pans work? Could you use a magnet?

ETA: just spotted these ones, didn't know you could get aluminium pans that work on an induction hob:

The problem with sorting out is, first you have to pull it all out - then it looks daunting. Then you have to decide stuff - and have somewhere proper to put what you're keeping ...more daunting stuff.

We wanted an integrated microwave which matched the other items, so we ended up with some clever microwave/oven/grill thing.

It's a clever concept. You can set it to automatically :-

    a) zap the food with radiation to mortally wound any flavour present
    b) oven cook the food so it is totally dry
    c) grill the food to form an impenetrable crust on top.

    Aint technology great ;)

Yep, we have three piles.... one is to throw out, one is to go to charity shops, and one is for ebay.

Only got through a part of one room today, well daunting.:)

I dislike built in things, I worry that they shouldn't be built-in and are overheating :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've had a visitor I didn't know about. 7 hours ago apparently. I was outside pacing up and down and spotted a shadow round/under my gate, so opened the gate and there were some plants. I'd been expecting a call 9 days ago about them as somebody didn't want them and offered them to me.

They'd been/gone and was obviously in a rush/didn't wish to get waylaid ... I'd had a text, but my phone was off as it'd run out of power earlier so I'd plugged it in to charge and hadn't turned it on (as I don't get more than 1 text/month it's not high priority to check it). Text said they'd done it, not that they were about to, so I don't feel too bad at missing it.

So, got to work out where to put these plants now. I've no idea what they're called, but they look something like this (sort of):
    http://www.realoasis.com/Images/Plant%20Hire/Butia%20capitata%20-%20jelly%20palm%202M.jpg - about 18" high

Also, two big tubs to plant them into, so I'll need some composty stuff tomorrow. I'm now guessing there'll be 100 types of composty stuff and I'll be stuck with not knowing.....

    Wow!

Take a picture of yours and take it with you to a big garden centre ( booo) find the plant advice area and ask them a. What yours is and b. what medium to pot it into. :)

Oh... I was hoping somebody'd just say "No, just buy the cheapest bag you can find, that'll do".... then I was going to go to the clearance warehouse 200 yards away :)

We'll you could certainly try asking davesnave. Or post the question on the green fingered board.

Knowing what yours is will help you care for it the best. :)

I am afraid IThis is totally out of my area of knowledge so I cannot point you in right direction. If I were to guess I'd say something with very good drainage, maybe mixed with grit or sand......but I'd not guess really. It could be greedy for all I know! :o
