The sort of 1970s-style of place where you'd not sit down, would stand clear of the counter - and wipe your hands with wet wipes after coming out of the place
PN, you've made me feel all nostalgic and sentimental.....:o0 -
When OH went on his bread making course in February they learnt how to make a traditional english country loaf. It is a method that needs a lot of time between stages so happens over 3 days. It gets so much neading that all gluten is worked out of it. I can ask him for the recipe if you are interested.
Not for me, thanks, as I can tolerate gluten. I was just surprised it's possible to make gluten-free bread, as bread flour is especially chosen to be high in gluten. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Indeed, a wonderful picture!
I've off loaded cake around the county and beyond and am left with just some for RP.. Fir has taken some to London tonight after agonising over whether to travel tonight or in the morning.
I'm settling down to watch Chelsea flower show..i'm so old inside :rotfl:

Lovely Westie pic. Needs framing!
I had to decide between the flower show and the BB King tribute on Radio 2. Have opted for Radio 2 as I was already listening in the car and have a new speaker to listen with at home.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

What's next from Apple. The iCooker?
A replacement for the living room TV followed by increasing forays into cars.... So says Carl Icahn anyway.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Ahhh... where's wheezy westie? There he is!
Surreal drive home tonight. A squirrel strolled in front of my car, shortly followed by a low flying bird. Missed them both (was a 30 zone anyway) and was thinking that I felt a bit like snow white when all the animals come up to her.
Then a couple of miles later at the national speed limit a mother duck started to walk her brood out into the road in front of me  Luckily no one was close behind me (I checked first), so I managed to slow down a bit and move a bit further into the road and mummy duck made a retreat back to the verge with her babies.0
