I'm like that too. So is DD. DS, OTH, takes himself off to bed early and sets his alarm for 5am just because he likes it that way.

Oooh exciting. Let us know how you get on. :)

Welcome Pollygarter. :hello: Do tell us about yourself. What are your views on mushrooms, and do you have any connections to Judaism? Have you only just stumbled on us or have you been lurking for ages?

I was never given such a welcome.

I like mushrooms and have a Jewish granddad (never met him), interestingly my dad denies any Jewish ancestry yet my auntie confirms it, I just look in the mirror at my nose and know its true.

The one I've applied for is a 2 year contract "in the first instance".
The one I've seen is permanent.
    Both are same salary range.
I'd like to move for better prospects & environment tbh. I feel everything here is stale & getting worse...
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

It wasn't intentional. I think we tend to give a warmer welcome to those who begin with a "hello I'm new here" post, because then we're all aware that they're new. Those who just start joining in the conversation get a less effusive "nice to meet you" because we're never sure if they're new or we've just forgotten the last time they posted on the NPT.

So, a belated welcome to Percy! :hello:

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I did the same Percy, wandered by. Wandered off for a while because the thread was ridiculously busy at one point and I couldn't keep up - it got very confusing after a few days away and I had no idea if I should be congratulating or commiserating.

    Takes little to confuse me!

Me too... sometimes I read posts which are replies to replies to replies to a "don't quote will delete" post which has long been deleted and then I have no clue whether to congratulate or commiserate. A group hug is always appropriate in that case. :grouphug:

I am in need of NP opinions. I know some of you cope with long term disabilities and health issues and have MSE values and I would appreciate your thoughts.

It is now almost 8 months since my stroke. My physical rehabilitation has been very good, my goal is to get to "normal" . Cognitively I am good but not as quick at assimilating information, processing it and decision making to successfully enable a to return to my job so I am retiring(it is rumbling through the pension process currently). I am not yet able to drive but expect to do so in the next 3 months. I can walk with a good gait for about 1.5 miles. I am of a positive disposition and happy with life.

I am now reaching a milestone in my rehab. I have a neuro physio treating me at home 3 days a week . Sometimes we swap a home session for Hydro therapy and I have discovered I am now a non swimmer due to some deficit in my left arm but also a sinking left leg. The leg is due to poor core strength.

The Physio has said that in terms of what more I can get with her that is probably further function in my wrist and that everything else is about continuing the stretches I have, the arm exercises, core stability exercises and build my walking distance and pace.

I have limitations to my reach, lateral arm movements, fine motor skills and frequent episodes of high tone in my arm, shoulder and foot.

    So do I reduce the Physio input and ;

[/LIST]go it alone -I am worried about my diligence and the quality of the moves.
swap a physio session for 2 physio assistant sessions to do the stretch and exercise programme Physio £80/hr Asst £40/hr .
    Something else (ideas welcome)

There is a Clinical Pilates class at my local GP surgery. but transport is difficult as we are 3 miles away with no public transport and limited local taxi's.

The Physio and I both want to wean me off such frequent visits to a longer term maintenance relationship, but she has worked miracles with me in a short time and I almost cannot believe I cannot get the final deficits sorted in the next couple of months. I probably need a reality check as I am not Superwoman, I just have high expectations of myself to get things done. I have had a turbulent year, and the next one will be a change of lifestyle and I want to be a bit kinder to myself.

So NP what are your opinions , you'know me' pretty well, so financial, physical, psychological opinions are all welcome.
