Capital One axing cashback for some, cuts cashback rates for others

..but the OP said there wasn't anything contentious, so who knows?
there certainly wasn't as far as i saw, and if someone posted something naughty afterwards, surely just that post/posts could have been removed?
even if existing customers might be being treated differently to one another, it is a fact that there are only two card options now available to new customers:
http://www.capitalone.co.uk/creditcards/credit-card-range.jsf
neither of which offer Cashback on spending.0 -

Presumably both. If CapOne are pulling the cashback there's no sense in keeping the cards.
Assuming all other card issuers withdraw thier cashback offerings in time it there would be little point in changing as I have found Cap One customer service to be top class over the years.
However if they have "leaned" on MSE.....0 -
How rude
I was the original poster
All I said was I have received notification that the cashback on my world MasterCard will stop June 1st
What's the problem with that mse?0 -
First 7 posts, can't see anything untoward

PS: when will the "whatever happened to the whatever happened to the Capital One cashback thread" be started then?
i wondered that;) kind of pleasantly surprised to see it still here when i just logged back in0 -

interesting. i haven't. initially i found the AspireElite card managed to get me some very helpful service, but i have found them to be poor more recently. in fact, absent. promised of calls back just don't materialise.
if no card on the market was offering cashback then it would over to looking for the best rewards, or the longest IFP on spending, or looking for another angle;)0 -
It cannot be commercial pressure as the MSE website says (my bold) or am I just being cynical. Deafening silence from admin so far???
We usually try to avoid going directly to, or building a relationship with, financial product providers themselves, to reduce their opportunities for them to exert pressure (which we’d ignore anyway).0 -
Hi everyone,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We looked into this and the original thread was deleted in error.
As you may already know, for legal reasons we can't put back posts that have been deleted but feel free to continue the discussion on this thread.
There's been no company input on this. As ever, MSE always has the final word on what goes on the site but we try to keep all threads up where possible and we're very happy for you guys to carry on talking about this on here
