Could it be that cashback is only being removed for some people and not others and CapOne don't want this to be widely known?
Thats just pure unadultered speculation on my part by the way - based purely on the fact that I haven't been informed of the change by them yet.0 -

If it has been removed because of commercial interests that is quite serious and really makes you wonder just how neutral and consumer concerned MSE is now.
In truth this really bothers me as it will mean you just cannot rely on anything they say or do?
I have emailed and asked why but the automatic response doesn't suggest that they will answer mails.

Lot cheaper to scrap it and ask their advertisers to simply remove references to the fact0 -

You really thought it ever was? Didnt you find it odd that its prior management took it into the almost never used "unlimited" company structure which importantly means they no longer have to have public accessible accounts?0 -
This is a bit mad eh?
I commented on that thread and I can't find it through my posts so it's clearly off the grid.
I still haven't had any comms to say my cashback etc is stopping so I'll hang fire but MSE really need to give answers. Might even just ask Martin what he thinks next time I see him...0 -

Agree. I would hesitate before alleging it was due to commercial pressure, because that contravenes everything MSE stands for.
What has happened before is that where a company poses a legal challenge to content on the forum (for which MSE is responsible) then it may well be easier for MSE to suffer detriment in the eyes of forumites by deleting it than to use resources defending what was said. I didn't see the original thread, so can't comment on that, but the OP said there wasn't anything contentious, so who knows?0 -
