is there anything in the book that points towards argon or helium, they are next to neon on the periodic table of elements???

Have just been on site and saw this


"We really do want to make somebody feel really special by giving them our fantastic Mini. We have decided to do two things to help. Firstly we are extending the deadline to match up with the Name the Planet competition, great news is you now have until the 19th of May 2008 to enter.
Secondly and as promised a further clue: The answer is NOT Fluorescent Park.
All you need to do is read the book and work out the answer, simple! Well it should be, watch this space as we may very well give you a third clue soon.

Could it all be a publicity stunt......
How many extra books have they sold/loaned to mse user since this comp. started.
Who had heard of this book before the comp.now everyones talking about it.

Still hope one of you wins the car.
Love to see there faces when you tell them you are not a fan.

Wonder what they are going to do if they don't get one correct answer?

I hate things like this, clues etc.. always seems to be, as you say, a publicity stunt.
The other comp I entered like this (not related to this and for a laptop) seemed to be better, as it had a word you were looking for and obviously was easy to find if you just read the book. This one seems to be very cryptic and I really hope it makes sense once the answer is revealed.

Looking at the website they've extended the date and said that the answer is NOT flourescent park.

I've read the book - and there's nothing in it like mpythons suggestions above, sorry!

I read the book before I knew compers were looking for the answer - so I wasn't influenced by anyone elses suggestions...and I thought it was Flourescent Park...its the only thing that makes sense.....I'm of the opinion this was the original answer and the organisers have changed it cos they really don't want a comper to win .....in fact if you are the winner you have to answer an additional question before you can have the prize....so I doubt you would be able to blag it if you hadn't read the book !:eek:
