I've just finished reading the book and the name of the planet isn't given. I didn't notice any mention of anywhere called Fluorescent Park - have you got a page reference?
It's worth mentioning that the book contains an entry form only comp with a prize of £10,000 closing some time in 2008.How sweet it is to do nothing..... and then rest afterwards.0 -

There is no mention in the T&C that you have to read the book to enter the draw. ..??

The question doesn't ask for the name of a planet - the question/clue is:
Clue: ‘A safe haven that’s not quite neon’bonhovis wrote:"Only at night when the pollution levels disperse, will the planet’s street children be able to venture out to the fluorescent park, a disused piece of land, which is a safe haven from the underworld gangs."
is good enough for me!Jo x2007:£5181.09 2008: £6619.70 2009: £4284.49 2010: £5213.14 2011: £4980.62 2012: £3188.52

You can also download the form here0 -
No, the question didn't ask for the name of a planet, but as they were looking for a planet that was to replace an increasingly dangerous Earth, I, and several other posters, thought they were looking for the name of that planet.
However what they were actually looking for was a place where the Children of the Underground could feel safe, and that indeed is Fluorescent Park, as given on pp158-159 of the book. How sweet it is to do nothing..... and then rest afterwards.0 -
The site says the comp closes on 31-12-07 not 2008 as stated in the title of the thread.0
