Why is it a rip-off? Go to the post-office, get a travelmoney card (which is visa electron) and don't pay the charges.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

Does anyone have any experience of this site (w w w .ticketstoworld.co.uk)?
Martin doesn't mention them in his screenscrapers article, but they are coming up with the cheapest prices for my flight to Perth. I'm a bit wary of trusting them with my card details without some sort of recommendation.0 -

just noticed a wee trick at easyjet.
was booking a return flight from geneva to belfast, after changing the currency to sterling the cheapest flights were £40 and £115...
for some reason i was then checking out getting just a single, and noticed that when i selected belfast to geneva, the £115 flight was now only £80. I then went to 'add another flight' bit, and the £40 flight was only £30.
Dont know why they change the price depending on your start point, but its quite a difference - I saved £45!0 -
Where is the best place to find cheap flights from the UK to Australia? Looking at flying late this year, one way ticket needed. Price is around £450 currently, wondered if its possible to find cheaper?

Can anyone explain the logic behind flight taxes? Eg Ryanair on flight from Leeds Bradford to Malaga on 22 June has tax at £0 whereas Jet2.com are charging £22.0

I am wondering if any airline has yet got enterprising enough to supply a package for long haul flights (eg 8000 miles) for UK travellers - fly out of a nearby fair tax European country to avoid the £200 per person UK tax, but also supply a coach or short haul flight out of UK as a separate UK purchase?
(After paying big income, petrol tax + VAT all year, a pair of long haul flight tickets to see distant relatives are now unaffordable - the only people eagerly snapping up the tickets seem to be foreign students!).0 -
has anybody figured out a way to avoid paying this annoying add-on?
this should be illegal, if i am correct in thinking the only other option is to checkin at airport, which carries a higher supplement. as you cannot travel without checking in, then you are forced to pay one supplement or other. this would mean the advertised fare is not available, and is thus a misleading invitation to trade. ( or fraudulent invitation ??). is anybody aware of a legal challenge having been made ?0 -
I have just booked a flight from London to Peru with Air Europa and found that if you book exactly the same flight but as though you are spanish it is £200 cheaper than if you change the option to UK at the top of the website, you still get a valid ticket because you are still given the option of entering in your nationality once you have chosen the flights.
Though there is a 12 hour overnight stop over in Madrid and i have just phoned the airline, and was told by the person (though he wasn't too competent) that i would have to find my own accomodation for this time? is that right, shouldnt the airline provide a hotel as this is part of the journey?am i expected to stay in the airport for 12 hours? does any one know what airlines tend to do in this case?0
