  • Just got paid, but in light of my credit card bill (paying off cooker plus have a lot of expenses i won't be able to get paid for before 3rd week in jan) will sit tight and not overpay.

The shares keep going up and down but not getting to the price i was aiming at - wondering if i should lower expectations as really need to have capital gains this financial year. Will also need to start pulling my tax self assessment together over cmas - oh joy.

  • Misjudged shares - sudden surge and they have sold for £9800, so setting up overpayment to go through. Below £90,000 now!

  • Also found a payment sent to me via mobile payment - once i figure out how to transfer it, i will have another £38 to put towards xmas

  • Thanks, glad i didn't go with the default sale with existing sharesave provider as share price was a lot lower. Paying into another sharesave scheme now which will pay out in 3 more years. Hope the shares do well

  • The way I look at it, is so long as you get back what you paid in plus maybe 5-10% on top, at least you haven't lost anything. Possibly not the best way to look at it, but so long as you don't lose £££ I'd be quite happy.

  • It was about 2.5 times what i paid in, so pretty happy. Not playing regrets if the prices go up - i have and sharesave scheme that will benefit from the extra growth when i can cash it in . Was a nice xmas present though.

Hope everyone had a good christmas. I am seeing the flooding in the NW and parts of Scotland and feeling very sorry for those washed out a third or fourth time in a month

Updated my signature as now at £86,049 - thanks to some one off windfalls as well as putting a lot of bonus towards paying things off last year. Hopefully will be able to continue with overpayments this year so have joined the pay off in 3 years thread to see if i can keep on track.
My flat made a profit ofa few pounds last year being let once all expenses taken into account, so once out of my btl mortgage fix will see if i can sell it. Suspect a lot of other people will be doing the same!

Happy New Year:beer:Excellent last minute payment there:j, to beat the end of 2015. New start for 2016 with a huge dent in your total left.:D

I too have joined the MFW 2016 and the MFiT T4 - i'm no 5, so I call it my 3,4,5 challenge :)

Good Luck and will be following as usual.

ps Forgot to tell you I have OCD and that 49 at the end of your mortgage is annoying me :rotfl:

Since i can't pay in less than £500 bundles i will have to wait until the end of the month to correct it i'm afraid :-)
Went round john lewis with a giftcard (present from xmas) and was chuffed that i didn't splurge it stuff just because it was on sale even if i didn't need it. My diary is making me more aware of buying stuff on impulse and am definately cutting down on the clutter where necessary, without feeling deprived.
