  • If your mortgage interest rate charged is higher than your savings interest rate earned, it was the opposite of an expensive lift - your brother helped you save a good chunk of cash without knowing it ;)

Thanks mortgage_girl, got things pretty well sorted but going into town was a disaster. I hate big crowds so i ended up getting frustrated at shuffling around in the pouring rain dodging kids and dogs and too many people - urrrgggh just such a horrible waste of time, i cannot understand people who love shopping. Didn't find the stalls i wanted either so getting presents elsewhere. Ended up getting home and crashing out for couple of hours to decompress.
Got rest of decorating and chores such as present wrapping pretty much done. Roll on xmas

  • Realised i hadn't been given a refund for some items that weren't delivered. Chasd it via their website and getting £20 refund onto my credit card. Also had a bit of a farce getting served with a meal (they kept bringing me the wrong stuff) and the manager gave me dessert for free - £5.50 saved.
Early Payday on friday, i am sure a lot of people will find the 6 week gap until next payday difficult.

  • Hi Dalradian, just a quick "Hi" from a fellow singleton. I share your feeling that cars are money pits and I also do not like large shopping crowds. I have subscribed to your thread and am looking forward to hearing how you get on. Good luck with the pressie shopping :).
