  • Chink, chink January! It's great to see those debts tumble:beer:

Thank you Ellie. It really is great to see the debts tumble. In all my years, I have only ever paid off one loan without consolidating to sort the mess out (and it was a 7 year loan at that!). Seeing those debts go down and knowing we are actually clearing them rather than moving (and building) the problems is such an amazing feeling.

Who cares about credit ratings - I never want credit again in my life. Credit ratings are over rated ;)

My thoughts exactly January. I clung on to my credit rating and my credit cards for much longer than I should have done before going onto my DMP:eek: Like you I continually consolidated debts which just grew and grew until we were backed into a corner with no way out:(

I'm still pinching myself that our debts are now under 10k and That elusive debt-free date is coming into view:cool:

Take care and I wish you all the very best for 2016:)

My credit card balance is now back below where I started off over a year ago ha! It's not as bad as it sounds, I made cash transfer at 0% for 12 months to pay off my Santander loan which had just over 2k remaining on it at a rate of 20% which was definitely a good move, and also my £1000 overdraft that was costing me £25 a month. The card is also at 0% for another year. I have already snowballed the payment I would have made to the loan straight to the card, aim to have it cleared by then end of 2016.

As of today, we have paid off £10,154.80, in 12 payments I have paid off over 10k, it has been really tough at times (and for some reason at the moment seems tougher than ever) however we will get there and hopefully be debt free this year.

    £6096.53 left to go......

mine would normally be a G & T but am doing dry January ... squash it is please!

Lincs, I think dropping under a thousand is a massive boost, it just looks so much better to see an 11 when you've spent so long looking at your debt starting with a 12! :T
