brilliant brilliant people all of you
well done. And AndyfromOtley - One day I hope to be able to pay an insurance years amount up front - so yes that's definitely worth celebrating!
Debt at highest - June 2013 - 26k/ March 2018 - 2500
Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
A little bit late, but I started on YNAB last month, (ridiculously addicted to it!) and for the first time in I-don't-know-how-long I was in credit at the end of the month!
Thinking about money in categories has really helped to focus my spending.
I'm not in debt anymore, so my next milestone is my Emergency Fund!
I love YNAB too! It's helping to keep me in check and I update it religiously;) This time of year is always so difficult for us as OH's work dries up for the Winter, by keeping a very close eye on what we are spending we're able to manage on my salary alone:cool:Debt Free 1st March 2017

It's good isn't it? I ought to be on commission for them, I'm recommending it to everyone! :rotfl:
I used to get to this point in the month and be down to my last £200 but I'm so much more aware of my money before I spend it now.:money:0 -
Hello,
I've only just been pointed in the direction of timid lovely thread. I have today paid my final payment on the first of my 5 credit cards, it was the one with the highest interest and through determination and daily PADding I have managed to get it to zero :T
On to the next one now, Santander was cleared 9 months early thanks to this forum and the support available, let's see how quickly Halifax can be obliterated!!!

I know this is mostly about debt milestones, but last week I found out that I had been approved for a mortgage subject to valuation.
This mortgage is:
a) with a high street bank
b) less than 10 months after finishing my DMP
c) less than 4 years into a default on my credit file
The valuation was today, but I think it's proof that a blemished credit file isn't everything. If you act quickly to resolve a problem when it arises, lenders recognise this and behave accordingly!
Also after registering with clearscore and comparing to noddle, there is proof that credit scores mean nothing. Noddle rate me 1/5 and a poor credit score of 563 whereas clearscore rate me 436/700 and stable. I see this as a milestone because I was so obsessed about it all before! I'm not any more, I'm going to make sensible decisions if I need to borrow, which should mean I'm not applying on a whim and therefore not filling my file with applications/unnecessary credit/searches!Debt free on 2nd January 2015Next savings goals:£5k emergency fund£4k holiday of a lifetime fund0 -
KirstyO, I'm in a similar position and it is a milestone! We have recently been approved for a mortgage with a high street lender - no default or DMP but very high debt level (that I'm working my backside off to get down!)
