I'm huffing, we have a waste paper basket/small bin in every room (bar the kitchen where there's a big swing top), I've just emptied them all, and it was a black bag and a half!! Why can no one else ever do it?! There was a pile of crap on the bathroom floor beside the bin because it was full, I've ignored it for as long as I possibly can but it's disgusting. Does no one else see this?! Why can't another member of my large and capable family do it, just once?!
Rant over, gotta love hormones, eh?!
I have UU a Vaseline hand cream today. Nothing special, WMBA if it was on a pound offer but not worth the £2+ IMO.
Going back to the YT PP discussion, I subscribed to PrettyPistol86, she is fantasticShe mentioned in a video that she'd been using the Maybelline taupe Colour Tattoo to fill in her brows -- OMG, it's amazing!:j I have dyed black hair and naturally light ashy brows, I dye them too but they're never dark enough. I've been filling them in with MAC Brun eyeshadow but it has a warm undertone, the colour tattoo is brilliant, not a hint of warmth and they actually look as though they belong on my face now
Thankyou to whoever it was who recommended her channel!
ETA, it was you dolly, I should've known
I've just subscribed to her channel too.
Speaking of brows though I've gone back to using Smashbox brow tech.
2 more UUs today:-
bomb cosmetics bath ballistic. Was bright yellow and didn't like it in the bath on its own so finished the tube of Ricci Ricci shower gel in there too. My bath water looked like lemon meringue lol. Not a fan of bomb cosmetics bath ballistics as they were all very oily. The Ricci Ricci shower gel was nice. Maybe I'd buy again but for the moment I have some more Elemis frangipani shower gels to UU.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Forgot to mention another Non Bought In - I was offered a bag of Maclaren Beginnings baby toiletries by Am@zon, I thought they might be handy to have in for when small visitors visit, but when they arrived the pack of 25 face and body wipes had a use by date of August 2012. Amazon were most apologetic, but I couldn't use the set on any small people obviously.
There was a £10 tin of dusting powder, some nappy change balm, a little bottle of hand gel and the wipes. I chucked out the wipes which were yellow with age. I wondered if the balm would be any good as foot cream, tried it, but it's designed to sit on the skin and be a barrier so the answer is no..! Which leaves the dusting powder.
I gave away the only similar product I had to a friend who had a breast cancer op and needed something talc-free. This is milled corn starch and kaolin.
Makes you wonder at the profits they make, charging £10 for 100g of dusting powder that is just cornflour and kaolin with traces of tea tee and lavender oils.
You can buy a kilo of kaolin for £7.95 and cornflour works out at £1.55 a kilo from A!di. Given that wholesale prices are probably a fraction of that, a 20x mark up seems a reasonable assumption.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

You're Welcome. I missed her recommendation for using Taupe as a brow filler, I have that eyeshadow but can't get on with it, it is so matte and difficult to apply. I am going to try it today as a brow filler - from memory it is pretty much the same colour as the S&G Archery pencil I am using now.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi all, I just need a bit of help (ideas). I was reading about the homeless period campaign you can see here.
http://www.dazeddigital.com/artsandculture/article/24324/1/meet-the-campaign-helping-homeless-women-get-tampons
I often donate to charity but I must say this never crossed my mind. So I'm now considering to donate some sanitary items to a homeless charity. Any idea how I can make the most of my budgets? Boots etc is expensive. I was thinking about Chemist Direct but just wanted to see if you know any cheap alternative.ally.0 -
4 daughters plus endless stream of friends, someone is always on their period in our house! I buy Aldi's or Tesco's own, and just keep the bathroom visibly stocked - they seem to be accepted by all and are good value for money. I used to leave some in public toilets downtown I knew homeless frequented too, but after reading your link will be looking to give direct to shelters. No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. I have 4 daughters, all 18 plus. Over the past 2 years the 2 oldest moved out. They loved a clean, tidy house, but never saw when it needed to be done, and would just tell me to chill when I would get upset at the clutter all over, drippy shampoo bottles and used cotton buds in the bathroom etc.etc. DD2 was the worst. Within 6 weeks of her moving to uni she was calling me up to vent about her 'filthy flatmates', 'leaving rubbish on the kitchen counter, dishes in the sink, beer cans in the garden, hair in the drain,' etc.etc. 'Mum, it's like they just don't see it!!!' I must confess I had myself a little chuckle - seems like when they move out the scales miraculously fall from their eyes!:rotfl:No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014.
