it can vary i think, my rabbit cost £15+ the anaesthetic and other bits came to about £40 but GPs are smaller and don't need as much so i should imagine it would be less than that but it also depends where you go as i was told £70 for my bun at one vets!0

Oh! and if you are going to get another pig then introduce them slowly to bond them as just bunging them in with eachother can sometimes lead to horrible fights and injuries!
Be prepared for them maybe not to bond though, because just like humans, they don't like everyone!0 -

Don't know if they were related as they were rescues

My Dad had his male GP neutered and then introduced a female, they get on great... However since castration the male gp has had about 3 abcesses grow in the place where his jewels once were...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I bought a pair of boys then a second pair of younger baby boys. All 4 get along just fine and I think they are much happier in bigger numbers. Go for it!July Win: Nokia 58000

I've had male and female, now got 2 boys. If you have one of each, go for de-noodling..it calms them down too.
My 2 boys haven't been done - not much point!0 -
Hiya top_drawer. If you are getting another guinea pig I would say, go to a rescue and get a boar, around 2 years old. A baby and an older pig are more likely to get on than 2 young boars, as when maturity kicks in, it can all kick off! At least that what I did. Although I had the older boar first. I found a woman who takes in rescues, took my boy with me and introduced him to a six week old boy. They get on great. They had a few weeks, when the young one was about 5-6 months where they had a few spats but they are fine. The thing to do is make sure they have lots of space so they can get away from each other if needed. Mine live in a heated shed in a 6 foot by 3 foot run with 3 seperate sleeping areas, and on a nice day, they go out on the grass. Hope you find a friend for your piggy!0

one of my young guinea pigs (Robin) escaped from my grip as i took him out of the run last night and so the story goes...
7pm Escape and getting stuck under the shed occurs.
7-8pm Me and Hubby laying in the mud with torches and celery trying to coax him out while OH grumbling as the football was on!LOL!
8pm give up as Robin hasn't batted an eyelid in an hour.Set a cunning (humane obv!) trap.
10pm still no movement so food and water put int he trap for him.
10pm-6am bad nights sleep worrying about him and about the 3 cats we have too incase he escapes the trap.
10-6am At some point Robin escapes the trap (how i do not know!)
6 am Robin strutting round the garden bold as brass just scoffing grass.
6-7.30am Jules pinging round the garden like an idiot shaking a bag of food and snapping celery to lure him back.
7.30 Robin pauses for a second in a day dream that he is Indiana Jones...CAPTURED by Jules!!!
i have no idea how he escaped the trap, or how he didn't become a midnight feast for our cats.
All i can say is i feel like a very bad mother for allowing him to escape my grasp in the first place!:o
Oh and thankfully we had Sky+, but that didn't help Man U win so a bad night all round really!0 -
