If I go into my bank and ask for a list of continuous payment authorities is this something they will be able to produce for me? It is not clear to me from reading the various guides on CPAs that this is possible. Basically I want to be able to check exactly what is set up on my bank account and debit card but CPAs seem to be the one thing my online banking has absolutely no mention of. I'm with TSB and I can find no reference to CPAs in their online help.

CPAs aren't registered on your account.
 So the answer is no.
It's up to you to know who you're authorising to debit your account.0

Go through your statement and check for any transactions which show as 'DEB' then have a look to see if you actually visited the merchant, in store or online, around the time they debited or whether its gone out automatically. That should give you a good starting point.
 Good luck

OP, you seem to misunderstand how CPAs work. No bank or card provider knows what CPAs you have authorised. This article provides you with additional detail: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/recurring-payments0
