No "paper"work. I just logged on to the online account with PlusNet, and printed out what's on the screen.

Just tried to login to PlusNet and my account no longer exists! I didn't realise I had to do it before account expiry as I was waiting for the promised email that never came!
Spoke to customer services and what I've got is this:
Dear xxx,
As per our discussion, this is to confirm you have previously paid £59.35 in cancellation charges on dd/mm/yy.
Kind regards, xxx xxx

I had been with PlusNet for over 4 years, was out of contract and decided to move to EE. I have been stung by a cease charge of £30. There is no justification for this charge as all the work was done by EE and EE use the BT network to deliver their broadband. How do I get my money back because PlusNet have taken the charges by direct debit?
I have talked to PlusNet and registered a complaint, but they have not budged!0 -
Print out proof of Cease Fee, e.g. Final Bill.

£100 to switch
Available only to customers who are currently in contract for their broadband and calls package with another provider. We will pay any amount up to a maximum of £100 to cover any monthly outstanding payments for line rental or monthly call plans. This does not include any outstanding call charges. To get this you must inform us when joining you are still in contract with your current provider. You will have to pay the provider any amount they ask for. Once you have done that go to ee.co.uk/buyout to fill out your claim within 90 days of your EE service being activated - you'll need to provide us with the relevant paperwork. We will then refund the amount agreed to you as a credit on your EE broadband account, with any remainder paid to your bank account, within 60 days.0 -
No, the work was not all done by EE, since they do not have any engineers. If you migrated without using a MAC (you didn't say) then OR will always levy a cease charge, and your ISP will usually pass this on.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thanks for your reply. Can you please expand on what OR means?
At the time of applying to EE I contacted EE and they said that they would look after everything and that I did not need a MAC. Per Offcom a MAC is not required in any case.0 -
OR = BT Open Reach the company that deals with the infrastructure .They will have carried out the work involved in the switch .0
