It is like Thursday here - doen the bathrooms and have been working on my desk/study all afternoon - done quite well - I have put the urgent bits on my desk and the rest (minus the carp) in the basket on the floor. The plan is each day to do the bits on the desk to clear it and then each day take another pile from the basket onto the desk etc.
Going to make h/made chicken nugets for tea now. Searching everywhere for DS1 and 2 E111 cards - got all 3 I don't need!!!!!!!The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Lovely photo's, you've got 2 beautiful children AnW'sMum
made me smile seeing their happy faces
Well we went to the shop, decided Lidl's as the stuff I needed is cheaper there and it's close to Holly's new house so I took the boys to see Holly. They haddn't seen her since she 'moved' and was a little excitement to say the least. She's being very spoilt. She seems very happy, she did cry as we left bless her.
Haven't put all the shopping away yet, done some but sat down for a breather, weather has turned out nice here, pleased I braved hanging washing out, will put it away in a mo.
Good luck finding the cards Dusty. One day I might be more organised...........

Hi all.
What have i done since last update.
Done the food shopping altho havent meal planned other than today or tomorrow. Bought huge joint of pork so halved it and froze one piece, other is nearly finished roasting for dinner. Bought a few more bits and pieces for holiday that I think i need (no list done yet!)
Had 3 lots of washing out and back in on line altho next lot I think will have to go in TD as looking a bit black outside now.
DS is home as his dads left for Thailand, fourth time this year !!!! so him and DD played in the pool for a bit.
I've been down the allotment (its a mess this year) but managed to get loads of peppers courgettes tomatoes and some runner beans. We are up to our ears in peppers and courgettes so have made a huge veg curry with some other bits n pieces as well for freezing while dinner cooks.
Dinner nearly ready so need to make gravy while meat rests and cook Aunt Bessies.
Then it will be big clear up until DD bath and bed time.
OH will probably be home from work by then altho last text I got he was doing a hospital transfer to Great Yarmouth so could be ages, as they can get caught up with other emergencies on the way back if they happen to be the nearest vehicle.
Hopefully then once DD in bed will tackle the ironing which is Sooo much easier with the new iron. I would even go so far as to say I love it
See you all laterMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
I NEED to get myself back into gear! House rapidly becoming tip. Not a lot of enthusiasm for doing anything.
Looks as though house purchase has fallen through due to problems shown up by survey. Need to let our buyers know tomorrow. Will really upset them as this will be second house they've lost. Nothing else on market at moment that would suit us.
AnW'sMum - your kids look so happy. I imagine the last year has been tough for them, so it must have been wonderful for you to see them having such a great time.
Will go tidy up kitchen and try to get motivated for tomorrow. All I really want to do is curl up and eat chocolate! Perhaps a cup of tea would fill me up and stop the craving. Now off to put kettle on - anyone else need one?

Evening everyone. :hello:
Hugs to all who need them - lil_me that must have been hard when Holly cried; still, at least you can still visit her, and I'm sure with time, she will grow just as attached to her new owners.
Wish I had a garden kazmeister. I've planned to make a courgette flan this coming weekend, and it would be so much easier if I had my own supply - it's funny, I used to hate courgettes when I was a child, and now I really like them.
Well, it's sort of been a productive day in some ways - my Mum noticed a sign outside our local pub advertising for part-time waiting staff, so plucked up the courage to go in and enquire (admittedly with OH), and the lady there took my details, and said that she would ring me tonight after she had spoken to her partner. :T Feeling a bit nervous about it all now though, as she still hasn't called, and the last time I did waitressing was 9 years ago! The bit I struggled with, was writing down a reference, and I had to explain that I'd been at uni for 4 years doing a psychology and then a teaching degree, so hope that hasn't put them off. I did say that I would be able to do as many hours as they needed as I was only walking distance away, so hopefully this will help. Will keep you all updated on this. Still haven't found out about that mystery job in cornwall yet - my Mum and I reckon that my Dad's friend probably just confused me with someone else. :rotfl:
Have the house to myself at the mo as OH is out at the shooting range til 9 and even the cat has had his dinner and gone out on the tiles, so think that I will get ready for bed now, as all the things I want to watch tonight are on terrestrial TV, so I can watch them in bed.
Will catch up with you all on the new thread when I track it down tomorrow. Sweet dreams everyone, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

thanks lil_me and mermaid I think they are pretty special but then I am biased! One of the most tragic things about it all is that DS in particular will probably not remember his Daddy and what a wonderful person he was and still is to us all.
They had a great time, got over 1000 holiday pics that says so
Well I had better round DD up, she is out playing (has been all afternoon) and get them ready for bed.

I did do that thanks - have finally found after after going through 7 draws! (1 in kitchen and 6 in study) Have been really good and not made a huge mess but have sorted each one out and recycled all the rubbish as I went along so a job well done; ironing will have to wait until another day though.
I am starting to see the end in sight (in the distance) to the whole sorting thing and think by the end of the year it will be done. It is an odd feeling and whilst it is easier to clean I am not certain I like it that tidy - does that sound really odd? I realise that I use the chaos to avoid doing some tasks like sorting all the photos, I wonder if I will do them? The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
