Jill, have a hug from me too. What a day you've had!
It often sounds like folks have an extra child to look after some of the stuff the menfolk do (or don't as the case may be). Don't let your little boys grow up to be dependant men. One woman I know used to make her son's sandwiches and take them round to his house every morning before work 'in case he hasn't got any bread in'. He was 25 and he let her..

JillD massive hugs sweetie, I know exactly how you feel apart from the pregnant bit but have been there, my partner got the laundry in tonight when I'd asked him to move DS2s footie goals so noone could reach over the fence for them I said could he get that in too (me stood in my nightclothes I'd forgot about it', he said 'Do you want me to stick a broom up my ar*e while I am on' well that was it, my reply was 'Well I have to' so that turned it to WW3 as for the last 4 days all he's done is play with his RC cars, he literally hasn't lifted a finger at home or helped with the boys, in fact has left all the RC stuff for me to put away when he's got bored, I can't not do it as it's in the damn way. He said 'It's because you don't want me to go tomorrow, I'll stay' noooooo how wrong could he be, I can't wait for him and his CRAP to be out of the house!!!! Can't live with them, can't moan without them!
Tinsel really sorry to hear that it's also his hip aswell, my thoughts will be with you all tomorrow, hope everything goes well.
Solway independance is something I am trying to teach my boys, downside is now DS2 (he's 6) knows how to use the washing machine he's obsessed with it. He keeps changing his clothes wanting to fill the washing machine so he can put it on. Sod! Maybe on the application put - Need not apply if looking for a replacement Mother!
LJD1 my oldest is diagnosed with Autism (ADHD and Dyspraxia aswell but they just like labels), the youngest is sort of mid assesment/support, they can't decide, I know what his Autistic tendancies are, I know his speech was even more delayed than his brother etc, issue being they focused so much on the oldest he got left behind, now he's struggling. Before I get sidetracked where did you find belts ? I've looked everywhere for boys belts, see DS1s teacher told him he NEEDED one now he said he 'can't go school no belt' Don't you just love it when people don't understand that children with Autism take things VERY literally!
Change is bad for most of the little guys on the spectrum (sorry I say guys but mean both girls and boys) They like being able to rely on things being the same, can make life a little 'boring' and suprises are most definately a no no here. Been there with the weather thing, could try lets guess the weather, see if we can get it right because that forecaster is useless, scanning through some websites and then picking the most popular forecast. MET office is a bit more reliable, might be worth checking their website. With predictions it can be so much more difficult as it's hard for them to accept certain things are 'wrong'. Obsessions can take over your life, major issue here at the minute is flies, hates flies! We have to have electronic zappers up everywhere because we can't use sprays/hanging smelling things because of the lizard. I'm opening the windows and doors to air the house and he closes them behind me, NO FLIES! He keeps refusing to go out because of flies, he loves going fishing but tends to last only an hour or so because of flies. If we're out and he sees them he has to 'swat' them, can be chaos on someones car (they think he will scratch it) when he swatted a ladies hand bag and she thought she was being mugged, he swatted a strangers bum last week :rotfl: that was funny. Did I mention I now also hate flies?Oh DS2s is dogs, doesn't hate them, loves them, been bitten this week as he's just not scared to wander up to any dog, he jumped out of the car at the park and ran up to a dog with a ball in his hand, dog went for ball, dog got hand as DS2 tried to hide it! Oh and washing machines, my fault
Ooooops I rantednever mind :rotfl: Speaking of sandwiches, my partner is 27, he's gone to bed so I had to stay up and make his food and juice for tomorrow, sort his clothes, hat, sun cream etc etc. He's getting up at 4am so used the 'I'll have to be up early' but of course he'll wake me as he won't be able to find something or just with general clattering about so I help him, then I'll have the day to spend looking after kids, not out playing with friends like he will be. Sorry ranting again
ANYWAYMoroccan Lamb was a hit
not so much with DP as it was 'different' (He's got more Autistic traits than the boys as my sons psychologist pointed out, yes obsessions aswell) but DS2 loved it, especially the cous cous. I did the 'don't touch my dinner, it's only for big boys and girls' trick and he tasted it when I was gone and loved it
There's another thing to add onto his 'I will eat' list that is healthy!
Eeeeee look at the size of my post :rotfl: Right, off for a mooch then bed, up in 5 hours no doubt, joy! Going to stand in the garden with the dogs for 10 minutes so I can cool off I think. One day I might be more organised...........

Oh sooooooooooooo true! When asked how many children I had at times I would say 3 :rotfl:I also taught DD to shrug her shoulders, lift her arms in a resigned gesture and say 'men' in 'that' tonewhen DH did or didn't do something! It was hilarious to watch a 3 yo saying it lol

AnW'sMum your outlook never ceases to amaze me, with all you've been through loosing your husband you don't preech to us about 'make the most of it' etc as a friend of mine does who lost her hubby many years ago, you're a star and obviously realise we all love them (for some silly reason), just need a moan from time to time.
Oh and yes when people ask how many kids I have I say 3, you should have seen the strop in the library. Librarian said 'Oh you won't want a pink library card' and put them in the drawer. He said 'Yes I do, what's wrong with pink' so she had to get them back out. Only 27 year old man I know with a pink library card just to prove a bloody point! One day I might be more organised...........

Jill to make you feel better when I was 7 months pregnant with DS3 I broke my foot 2 days before OH was due to go to Australia for 2 weeks on a business trip - he still went. Good thing was I became a wizz at internet shopping - it was December and I had not done the shopping. Only problem was hobbling to the door to the postman - when OH returned he could hardly get into his study for all the cardboard boxes:rotfl:
Hugs to all of you and hope you have enjoyed your days - DS1 is out in the garden looking for shooting stars - supposed to be the best night for themThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I just thought about that actually Jill, would it be easier to do online shopping ? Asda do deliveries and usually a code or 2 to be had on the discounts code board. I wish I could have done it when I was pregnant, the knowing what you mean after being there, my partner moved out when I was pregnant with DS2 (DS1 was 18 months), couldn't cope with it, we got back together when he was a few months old. It was in part my choice, I fell pregnant twice on the pill, DS1 was born just before he was 19, DS2 arrived before he was 20. I said 'If you want to go, go now' pleased he did in a way as he wasn't a nice person then. One day I might be more organised...........

Dusty the image of all those boxes has me sat here smiling and nodding my head whilst 'thinking way to go'
lil_me thanksnot sure I would agree with the star bit
all these posts about daft OH's has me chuckling. My DH was just the same as a lot of these others, could never find anything even though it was right under his nose!

You know online shopping is bad when (these have all happened to me)
You wait in 'incase' something arrives today
The postlady begs you to stop using ebay as the bags too heavy
You sign for more than 10 deliveries in one day (all personal purchases not business)
There is more outgoing 'paypal' payments than income on your bank statement
The regional sorting office staff get your parcels for you before you get to the till as they know you
The postie and 'other' delivery network people know the kids names and get greeted instead of barked at by the dogs
You have more boxes than a supermarket (the tip staff call you the box lady as that's what you mainly recycle)
Your partner asks for the 4th time in one day 'what have you bought this time'
The neighbours notice how many deliveries you get and mention it
Yes I am still here. Tried to go to bed but DP is sprawled out on the bed, so I'm kipping on the sofa! One day I might be more organised...........

I feel a bit of a selfish old boot now, he is really very good and he is here and I wouldn't be without him, it all just got a bit much for me today. Thanks for the hugs etc and I promise to get a grip tomorow.
lil_me - yes online shopping probably would be easier but hour and half slog round Asda was at least hour and a half in my own thoughts and not with 2 whining children or a useless husband LOL. I do keep saying I am not going shopping again, but if I take it slow its ok and Asda are very good - if there are no parent&child spaces they let pregnant people park in disabled spaces, I get to park right next to the store so there is no bug walk with the trolley.
Plus I am just never organised to set up the delivery in time for when I need it IYSWIM. Must make an effort to try, maybe will do so next week.
The parent child space things reminds me of a silly story from holidays - we went to a National Trust place and in the car park they had like 3 spaces labelled "Mother and Baby". I presumed they really meant parent and child (pic was that one of a person and stroller) so I parked in the one empty one. Hubby says, in all seriousness, "do you think we qualify ?"I mean we have a 4 year old, a 2 year old in a buggy and I am 7 months pregnant, what more do we need :rotfl: silly eejit.
Anyway, I have spent enough time just vegging and have calmed down from earlier.
And final bit of good news for the night, spoke to my Mum, my Dad has moved beds! When he was transferred in the week he went back to the hospital he started at, in the same ward where he knows all the staff - he was there for the first 10 weeks - but to a different bed where there was no telly point (and no patientline not that he'd use it - too dear). When he was in this ward before and it was apparent he would be there for ages, me, hubby, brother and sis-in-law clubbed together to buy him a little flatscreen telly and headphones. He hasnt been able to use it the last few weeks. But today he spotted someone moving out from where his original bed was, next to the aerial socket so he asked could he be moved (literally diagonally across the ward) and they said yes!!! So he is back in "his" bed, and can watch what he wants on telly. It will perk him up no end
All good stuff.
here's to a better day tomorrow - hurray have just checked weather forecast it is cooling down over next few days THANK GOD - night night all :wave

Ah see Jill I am also useless at planning, but
How do I change the time of my next delivery?
You can change your order or your delivery slot up to 5pm on the day before your order is due. Login to your account, click on 'My Orders' at the top of the website page, and click on 'change' next to the order you would like to amend. Click 'Change Order'. In 'My Trolley' click on 'amend slot' and book a slot.
I understand what you mean about it being an escape sometimes, if you can go without kiddywinks in tow, suppose they have air conditioning and chilled aisles to cool off in too :rotfl:I see it as time saving more than anything, online order takes me 15 minutes ish (I'm indecisive) but shopping can be up to 2 hours inc travelling etc, the nice Asda man brings it to the door, I don't even have to load the car and someone else shops for meDon't get me wrong I still shop but any big shops usually done online if it's a supermarket shop I need. (I spend less and use codes too which helps, plus save on petrol)
Great news with the bed moving, hope it helps him recover a little less 'bored'
Right sleep time, I'll be awake in 4 hours! Stupid I am staying up so late, if I moan I am tired tomorrow tell me to shut upOne day I might be more organised...........
