Found this on my travels ...

Don't know if this will help "with negotiations" but JL had it on sale for £479 last November (2016)

    https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/lg-50uh635v-4k-super-deal-or-not.18758856/

Although having said that this chap seems to be concerned about

"the RGBW 'fake 4K' isn't an issue with anything other than the IPS panels LG use"

believing it has a MVA panel :T

but then finding the SPEC is WRONG  and that it is IPS :(

Not that I'm sure what a "fake 4k" RGBW looks like to a "normal" person to one that isn't.

Perhaps worth a little research before you commit and make a final decision?

    EDIT UPDATE

Just seen also that this discussion includes

    "LG 49UH770V will be a step-up ...."

    John Lewis' slogan should be

"Never knowingly undersold, except for Amazon so you should just buy it from there"

LG 50UH635V - JL £629, cheapest £479 from Hifi Confidential
Not with a 5 year warranty it's not, and that is quite important. If you want to get JL to pricematch then it must be based on an equivalent deal & terms.

And as far as Never Knowingly Undersold is concerned JL have had this model for sale at £479 themselves in that past, back in November.

I checked the lower price with JL who confirmed it was priced at £479.99 on 26 November 2016 then it put back up in price on 11 December 2016 to £699.99, as part of the Christmas pre sales. I won't pay £629 so either have to see if it gets discounted again in the next few weeks or have a rethink. I know other stores with lower prices aren't comparable if they don't provide the 5 year warranty but don't really want to pay £150 more for the TV at JL when they have sold it at the lower price previously.

What is it with prices of consumer goods fluctuating so much? Does a TV really become worth 30% more or less overnight? I think it's a scandal intended to confuse consumers so they can't understand how much things are really worth or what the quality of the item really is...

That's a real bargain if I wasn't tied to JL. It seems many of their better deals keep going out of stock and come back in at a higher price.

The TV LG 50UH635 is £479 at PRCDirect.co.uk. JL should price match as they have a physical store in Ilford.

I found a TV £250 cheaper than JL price at PRC before and the price matched no problem.

Amazing. I've put in the price match (added on the £50 for a 5 year warranty) and will post the result.
