Both club Lloyds and Halifax reward are capped at one each. Did you manage to wangle multiples of ?

Yes - possibly but presumably the banks allowed this assuming the applications were legit that so how is that the posters fault. And why shut all their accounts then?

If they want to stop that why not say you cannot use funds transferred from within the Lloyds banking group?

We will wait with interest for the OP's comments - but its possible this may just be a personal issue.

And yet Lloyds in branch have told me I can do that!

I was hoping Jack would have returned with an update. Perhaps the outcome was too much to bear!

If you have been shuffling money backwards and forwards between Lloyds and Halifax to meet the minimum pay in requirements of each I could understand them objecting since Lloyds, BOS and Halifax are all the same bank.

I doubt it. Someone I know has monthly transfers going on between 2 or 3 Lloyds accounts, and this was suggested by the staff.

Unfortunately, it's not the same staff who make suggestions and close the accounts.
Not only are they different people, but they have different mentality as well.

I also doubt it's because of the money shuffling, but I don't transfer money between my Halifax and Lloyds accounts. I use Santander as the hub and all money goes in and out from there. Perhaps others could list which banks they transfer money from/into to fulfill the requirements?

This kind of thing scares me, I have money in all these interest current accounts. I might when I am ready to transfer them all to my main current account it frigin gets frozen/closed lol

It scares the people who only have one account and have been with them for years, because they have this idea of bank loyalty and don't know any different. After all, they've always been with their bank.

It then scares me that these people don't open a new account elsewhere and instead try to argue with their bank. What happens when they don't succeed, the two months is up, the bank is closing the account, and you realise you're going to miss a mortgage payment and not get your wages?

It shouldn't scare those who have more than one account because you can simply switch your affairs to providers who aren't closing you out.

Unfortunately, such mysterious closures are often accompanied by an unjustified CIFAS marker that is very difficult to remove and can cause a domino effect.

Nor of course do we know how many of these threads are:
    1. Total wind-up's by the OP and have no basis in fact at all - ie trolling
    2. Are true, but the details posted on here omit vital extra information so that in fact the bank is quite justified in closing the account.
