Adequate Signage

I am a complete novice - although some members have endeavoured to help I am still clueless and any guidance on where I need to go would be most appreciated.

Wright Hassall have been instructed in respect of PCN's issued by Vinci.

There is mention of a template letter kindly posted by lazy daisy but I simply cant find it - there is mention of a sticky thread 4816822 but I don't know how to get there.

Can you please offer a step by step guide on how to find this - whereby a forum inept like myself can get the guidance supplied. I am the registered keeper and driver - I managed to find some that seemed appropriate if I was not the driver but don't know if there is another.

Thanks

Assuming Wright Hassal are a debt collection company, you ignore them. Never, ever contact a debt collector. They are toothless and can do nothing except send you free firelighters or poor quality bog paper. They can't send bailiffs or take you to court so don't be scared of them.

The NEWBIES thread is at the top of the Motoring forum under Parking tickets, fines and parking.

It is above the place where you started your new thread. Don't post on that thread but come back here with specific queries. There is a flow chart that is easy to follow in there.

We will need to know dates of the incident, whether there was a windscreen ticket, and when you received the NTK. If you can scan the documents, redacting personal details including PCN number, and photo's of signs it will help the regulars here help you.
Upload the images to a hosting website such as tinypic or photobucket then post the links here but change http to hxxp as you can't post live links. Someone here will change it so everyone can see them.

Why not just search the forum for the obvious keyword 'Hassall' to read what everyone else has done...sorry if you've already read loads of threads about it but if not there are dozens!

If you can't find a sticky thread called 'LBCCC Fightback' either look in the Forum stickies by Crabman (near top of the forum) and you will find it, or search this forum for 'LBCCC' or 'fightback'.

Searching the forum is always the answer, not asking for links. The 'search this forum' heading is NOT a tab at the top of this page, it's level with the blue 'New thread' button back on page one, but on the right just above the top threads. Helps you find anything you need on any forum.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

Thanks for the heads up - have read loads of links but am simply having trouble tracking down one specific template which is on here somewhere from Lazy Daisy - will keep hunting and appreciate the guidance supplied:p

It's presently the 4th thread down in the list in the main Parking forum ... the last Sticky thread with 0 replies. Open that up and you'll find the link to the LBCCC Fightback thread.
  • I spoke to BPA on a parking charge notice in relation to signage.

My employer provides me with a permit to park in a designated parking area, but mine was not displayed properly.

The area in question does have a small sign at the entrance with the terms and conditions of displaying a permit. However, you could not read this without being stationary and as there are much larger signs on the other side of the entrance, I have never noticed it.

The parking area itself is open air and has over 100 spaces with numerous lamp posts where signage could be displayed once inside. However, there is not one single sign in place.

You can take a short cut to walk in and out of the area without the need to go through the entrance. Which is what I have always done.

I rang BPA as I discovered that they are in breach of their guidelines on this matter. I spoke to a gentleman who told me that a contract could not be upheld - I stressed that a sign is in place at the entrance but I had never noticed it and was advised that this did not matter. However, email requests for this to be confirmed by them have not been responded to and as ticket now passed to Wright Hassall neither will Vinci or their debt recovery people.

Can anyone comment on whether this is a valid point if they do take me to court? Bit nervous that WH are new guys on the block - just hope that other threads here are right and that this is veiled posturing on the part of the debt recovery people.

Vinci are the operator - got a RKN on a different ticket to that given to my employer. This prompted me to ask my employer to speak to Vinci - it was ZZPS who issued the RKN but not on the ticket reference used for the appeal.

Should explain my employer pays for the permit parking but I am the Reg Keeper and driver - which my employer told Vinci. Thought the contract was with my employer and not me as a consequence

Vinci never mentioned the other ticket and no appeal was launched as a consequence.
