    We've all been one.

At your son's age, I'd been living away from my parents for a bit over four years, in three different parts of the country, and was more than capable of organising my own breakdown cover.

I will join in and take it more off topic, i left home at 16 bought my first car when i was 19 with no help from parents

All insurance backed breakdown recovery schemes should be considered as a type of 'Ponzi' scheme.

Which, after all, it's all they are !

It just boils down to which particular crook you wish to admin your particular scheme.

    so whats your suggestion

My suggestion would be to boil all of the MSE staff writers in oil.

A suggestion that I think you would disagree with.

There are cheaper options from similar car breakdown providers. Here you can check out the lastest prices and reviews.

You could just stay with one of the big boys (AA, RAC, or GREEN FLAG) but you will get a better deal with the smaller companies.
