I decided to upgrade my MEDIUM TalkTalk Fibre connection - that has been gradually decreasing in speed since I started with it (2 months ago) from a peak download speed of 37Mbps / upload 1.7Mbps - to FAST - at a cost of £5 per month
It was enabled yesterday
This is supposed to offer increased speeds of (up to 76Mbps download and 20Mbps upload) - however, I am now getting even slower - 17Mbps download and 0.7Mbps upload
I have emailed CEO's office - no response
I have raised it with support (community)
So far - no result
What do you think is the cause of this wasted upgrade and what should I do with TalkTalk ?

Have you checked the throughput you can achieve at 3am, to confirm the problem isn't your ISP under-provisioning its links resulting in insufficient capacity at busy times?Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230

do a speed test in your area ..postcode .

All that happens when you upgrade from Medium to Fast is a speed cap is removed.
If you were only getting lets say 30meg on Medium, then you will also get 30meg on the faster connection.
If your line can only support a speed of 37meg, then upgrading to fast is not worth it because you will still only get 37meg despite paying for more.
If your line is getting slower and slower, it may well be a line fault and DLM is slowing the connection until it can find a stable speed. I went through this with BT last year, as my line kept getting slower and slower. Result was they replaced a lot of external cable.0 -
He has only had fibre since Feb
