I am currently experiencing similar problems. In February I parked at what I thought was the overspill car park for my local hospital as it was signed Visitors Car Park. I was unable to get any money in the machine. When I returned I found a parking ticket from a company called Elite Parking. I telephoned when I got home and was advised to appeal the charge in writing. I did this enclosing a cheque for £1.50 which is the amount I was trying to pay. I thought that was the end of the matter. In April I got a letter from ZZPS asking for a lot more money than the original amount. I tried to phone but got a strange tone on every occasion. Finally I did get a recording telling me the mailbox was full for that number. I also sent 3 emails all of which were responded to by an automated message and nothing further. I got a further demand for money from ZZPS which prompted me to again try to contact them with the same lack of success. I posted a letter to them which I know they received as I sent it recorded delivery and it had been signed for. Today I got a letter from Wright Hassall asking me for over £200 I phoned them and finally got to speak to a real person and have posted off copies of all the correspondence plus contact details of the person who witnessed that I was unable to put any money into the machine.
I do wonder if revenue is slow someone deliberately blocs the coin slots in the machines

Hi, could you please start a new thread on this for assistance, you might like to head it as "Wright Hassall" want £200"

Thanks for all the advice but I am now in receipt of a COUNTY COURT claim form issued by BW Legal Services Limited.

If I pay the amount they are claiming, will this effect my credit file?

Why would you pay and not defend? Even if you LOST at a hearing, you'd almost certainly pay LESS and you would not get a CCJ!

I assume you've taken time to search the forum for 'BW Legal claim' and read the dozens of other threads exactly like yours. And that you have rad the updated section 'Small Claim?' in the NEWBIES FAQS sticky thread.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Why would I certainly pay less if I go to court.

Also why do I need to attend court in Northampton? I do not live anywhere near there. I thought from memory the claim had to be in the local court to the defendant.

ok you go to court , YOUR LOCAL COURT fight the case and win , at the same time you argue why a £60/£100 parking charge is now £170 and they then loose credibility ,

you loose , argue the costs , loose at least £70 off that number and then pay up

happy in the thought that out of the £175 they got from you its cost them £75 in court fees and about £300 for legal services

    and smile either way

Say I do decide to defend myself in court. Would BW Legal Services Limited not add extra costs to attend court which I would have to pay also if I lose?

Northampton is merely the admin centre for online claims. If you defend this it will be transferred to your local court.

NO NO NO , solisitors costs over £50 cannot be claimed back in the CC , and you would challenge why the signage said £100 and they want £170
