My wife and I are going to transfer our Santander ISA's to them, apparently we will have to visit a branch. When I phoned them for the mechanics of the transfer I mentioned that we would also like to use the new ISA limit for 2015-2016, the guy on the other end of the phone told me that there wasn't a new limit, I replied that I had heard differently, he asked me from who, I said The Chancellor of the Exchequer, he then said that he would ask his supervisor if the Chancellor was correct, the mind boggles.

Yes – perhaps they haven’t been trained yet on the 2015-16 limits. Just one of the quirks of YB/CB which you will soon get used to.
Do you live near a YB/CB branch – their network is quite limited in the south of England for example. And have you decided whether its CB (red) or YB (blue) you want to take out the ISA with as that will affect the branch you visit - although the London Piccadilly one is a joint branch.0 -
I think one of these is what you're after, assuming they're still accepting postal applications:

Or if transferring an ISA:

Would anyone know why this would have been removed from the MSE Best Cash ISAs page?
Under Notice Cash ISAs, where before it had details of the Clydesdale/YB 40 Day Notice ISA, it now simply says 'At the moment there aren't any decent notice ISAs but as soon as there are we'll update here.'
Seems odd to remove it...?
I'm tempted by this 2% ISA I must admit. Will I be able to view the account on-line if I already hold a current account with them? Would I be able to make deposits online also? I'm a bit worried as it only says 'You can make deposits at any branch, on the phone or by post.'0 -

The account is still available for the 2014-15 tax year - albeit requiring a branch visit. And there has been no notice of an interest rate reduction - they are required to give 60 days notice of a change under the terms.
So I have no idea why its been dropped - unless its a decision based on the fact you need to transfer/pay in £24k to get the good 2% rate.
And yes - if you have a current account with them it will appear in your internet banking based on the same customer number.0 -
Probably been dropped as you have to visit a branch and they arent nationwide.
Also a sign it's got too popular0 -
Just had my postal application returned as apparently they could not confirm my ID. although I have never had any problem with any other Bank/Building society.
If I still want to apply I can visit my nearest branch which is about 200 miles away. :eek:0 -
I've got an appointment booked with their sister company (Yorkshire) tomorrow. Also mulling over switching current account so I can receive the £150 they're offering.
One thing I'm going to ask them about the ISA is do they have to notify holder of interest changes or is it up to holder to find this out.
Interest rate is bound to decrease but it's handy to know (from martym8) that they have to give 60 day warning so that at least gives us 2 months at 2%!!0 -
