Clydesdale 40 day Notice Account

I dont currently have a ISA, but I got a good chunk of money from a redundancy and its sitting doing nothing at the minute.
Would this be the best ISA to go for?
If I have got it right, I could put £15,000 in now and then another £9,000 as soon as we move into a new tax year. I assume I would then get the 2% rate?0 -
Yes I would be the best to go for if you may need to get hold of some of your money.
Santander do a fix rate one at 2% buts its locked in for 2 years and you require a santander 123 account (everyone really should have one of those though!)
Times running out though so you better get on with the clydesdale one. Make sure you are registered to vote at the address you use to apply for the ISA0 -

Yes - you could do this but you will obviously need to act in the next week to open the 2014-15 account.
So download the forms and post them in - or visit a YB/CB branch if you live in their branch areas (they have only a few branches south of Birmingham for example - albeit a very plush one on Piccadilly in London).0 -

AndyPK, I dont qualify because I only have one direct debit. My phone is with giffgaff. I can set this month to come out each month but apparently it's not classed as a direct debit.
Thought Clydesdale would say no because I thought you could only open an account with (how should I describe it) new money? I've paid into this years so I'm presuming I wouldn't be able to open it until 6th April. Maybe I'm wrong...
You can open a dummy account with another bank (e.g. Natwest/RBS/Barclays) and use that for the switch - although under the new terms you need two direct debits set up as well (e.g. Tesco savings/Scottish Widows or charity donations if you don't have anything else as a DD) and pay in £1k post switch (although you can take that out almost immediately).
Its not essential - but its always nice to check your savings/interest on line as otherwise all you get is a postal statement each Jan after they pay the interest on 31 December.
Also where in the country do you live - its easier if you can use their branch network (mostly Scotland/north of England).0 -

Do you actually need an ISA?
What are your plans for your redundancy money?
Do you realise you can achieve between 3% and 5% on around 50k in current accounts? More if you have a spouse/partner

Looks like they have now withdrawn the online forms and application is in branch only.0 -

Looks like that is because of tax year end issues – as you will need to visit a branch to ensure its open before the 5 April.
They will probably reopen the postal applications/online forms in the new tax year.
My ISA account opening took more than 2 weeks by post – so branch is probably best anyway if you can visit one. Obviously no use if you are in the south and can't make it to Piccadilly/Northampton/Banbury/Gloucester etc etc
PS For those wishing to take advantage of the £150 bank account switch incentive seems its being withdrawn at the end of March. You just need to have applied by phone – the switch can be later (if you need to set up your two direct debits first!)0 -

I dont suppose anyone here has saved a pdf of the application for Yorkshire's 40 day notice ISA
I think one of these is what you're after, assuming they're still accepting postal applications:

Or if transferring an ISA:

Yes - but to be clear if you are doing a transfer you need to complete both forms!
Clearly if its a transfer - as it will usually be to get the 2% on £24k - timing is less critical. But given their pace of action I doubt if you sent a postal application in now for a 2014-15 new ISA they would open it by 5 April. Could be wrong - but they aren't always the quickest!0
