Be a shame if next time the ball landed on that spike in the back garden and went flat.
This is what I did as the kids kept kicking them over and even climbed in my back garden until I added a higher fence onto the brick wall and then plastered the wall with non drying paint.
I had about two years there after of constant shouting can we get our ball or knocking on my front door so a final warning was next time it gets thrown away, They persisted to kick them over and the next 4-5 were all punctured and thrown back over suffice to say I do not have anymore balls being kicked over and they now play elsewhere.
They did also used to use my garden as a cut through by climbing on to next doors wall and getting over the fence so I hosed them down a few times and this has also stopped, I did get a few irate parents giving me some abuse but stated my land and the kids were all told do not come into it as I am not putting my dog down if it bites them, It did take around 2-3 years in all and now I am left alone to enjoy my garden as I should be able to.0 -
Get a large guard dog. She'll be less likely to intrude.
(Put spikes/barbed wire on top of fences! This really is OTT, but it really does depend upon how difficult she is.)0 -
I've already taken advice re the pikkastrips, or sharp things on top of fences. It's all ammunition for her. As much as I'd love to put them there, or as much as I'd love to slash her balls, it's illegal and gives her more ammunition against us. She obviously has zero qualms about lying to the Police. I don't want to give her ANYTHING she could hold against us.0

Well unless you are willing to do some other things here then logging a report as per Police advice is the only way forwards for you.0

Prikkastrips are perfectly legal though aren't they?

And I would go for a very fine needle on the ball, maybe not all the way through. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

I was given some advice that if the kids or she actually hurt herself on them, they could sue me.
I'm more than willing to do whatever it takes, but what I'm not willing to do is give her ammunition. I've been advised that if I damaged the ball in whatever way, I could be held liable for criminal damage, as apparently regardless of the ball being in our garden, it is still her property.0 -

Yes, just need to have a sign warning potential intruders about them.0 -
Some police forces hand it out!
Avoid home-made versions (eg, broken glass, carpet grips, etc).
It needs to be above a certain height (think it's something like 2 metres, but check that one) depending on where you use it.0
