    Morning all
    Welcome Claire
I'm in once I get back from mils blood test, need to see if I can get myself an appt while I'm there.
Hugs good wishes and posi vibes to all who need them.
CY I agree with pigpen, if you did nothing and your mum or someone was hurt it would be awful, I tend to agree that your sister is just agreeing your mums ok to keep the peace and possibly lessen the workload, ie if your mums still with car she can possibly do more for herself. My step mum has just makes sure she does all the driving and the keys are never left where dad can find them. Hugs for you because it's going to be difficult however you deal with it. I would use the tactic that the car MUST need looking at if its driving irratically.

    Back soon.

Morning all, and thank you to Natty for the new thread and to Dusty for posting last week's lists.

Welcome ClaireT13. It takes time to change other people's attitudes and habits (still working on my DH after 6 years together!) but you'll get there in the end, and if you feel happier about your house, the happiness will rub off on the rest of the family. "Joining the dots" might be a good way forward for you: tidy up a few small areas to start with, keep them tidy, and gradually increase the size of each area until they all join up. It's less daunting that way. And it's very true that once you've got a clean and tidy house, it's very much easier to keep clean and tidy. Good luck! and do feel free to ask for help / moan / rant / celebrate on this thread as needed. We've all been there before you, and personal circumstances dictate that we all move on (or round) at different paces. Formation flying is far more fun than going solo; you'll find the formation changing around you, but different flyladies are always there to support you at different times.

    My plan for today:
    - write 3 emails and check finances before shower and breakfast (late again :o )
    - do daily general tidy-round
    - go out with DH to U3A meeting for the rest of the morning
    - clear the kitchen table
    - clean out cupboard under sink
    - S&S the oven
    - sweep and mop kitchen and DR floor (glad to say I've got rid of the ants :) )
    - at least 1 hr gardening - I need to remove an old laurel bush, but it will have to be done like eating an elephant: a little bit at a time
    - tidy the study/bedroom
    - start a shopping list

I shall be leaving DH to his own devices later in the week  and going to visit DGS3+4 for a couple of days, relieving DS2 so that he can go into lectures and write an essay, and flying wherever DDiL2 wants me to. I'm hoping to get plenty of Granny cuddles too, though ;)

Hope everyone has a good day and a productive week. (((Hugs))), spoons and sticks all round, as appropriate x

Thanks for the new thread Natty, how are you hun?

Jazee hugs for you, hope you feel less down today, pm me if you want to off load.

Claire welome aboard. You will get there, it will take time. Remember the way your home is now did not happen in a day or a week so sorting it out won't either. It gets easier as each bit is done. Celebrate what you do achieve, and keep on top of it. Don't berate yourself for what you don't do, there is always another week.

Off for a shower next and I could do with popping out for a small food shop, I want to defrost the freezer at some point this week so don't want to buy too much. Feeling a tad off colour so motivation may be an issue and I have paid stuff this afternoon.

    Morning

I'm in at some point. DW needs emptying then there is stuff on the side to go back in it. I swear it breeds. I didn't even feed the kiddies this morning as they went to breakfast club...
Just had the most amusing work conversation with a project manager - gotta feel for them, they have no idea really. Everyone seems to be telling him "speak to Bossymoo" but it seems I've no idea either. Blind leading the blind. Ho hum...

Welcome Claire, good to have you with us. Why not just try the level one to start? I'll be lucky if I get that much done today :p

Or possibly because it would mean she has to take her about places (cynic? Moi?)

    Right. Back to work!

Got down the drs and it seems mils last blood test was ok so she's didn't need anything doing today. She got really annoyed and blamed the nurse for wasting her time, I said it was good that she didn't need her blood doing, I managed to get a phone consult for my problem and have been told to keep an eye on it. Nipped in chemist and got another of mils prescriptions reordered. Just doing a quick bit of s&sing round before work.

  • Morning everyone.

Thank you for the wishes for DD's birthday :) she worked most of it till 8pm, so we agreed to share the weekend, and double celebrations on Saturday and Sunday. I was spolit, lots of kisses, cuddles and cups of coffee, and a pair of slippers to match my dressing gown I got off hubby for valentines. My kids know me so well :) Hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

Iona - photos are gorgeous, big congratulations
Mummyroys3 - so happy to hear your good news about your mum.

Been to paid work this morning, and have almost finished last weeks ironing, just having a cuppa, then will finish off, before starting on todays list, then hopefully get some paperwork done and bit more painting in DS2's room.

Had slight disagreement with hubby, nothing major, but does mean he'll stay out of my way today, so should be able to get on with tasks, with no interruptions haha.
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too :)

Morning all :) I have been MIA the last few weeks - I really don't have time to keep up with the thread I'm afraid :( It would take up all my housework time!!

My house is literally awash with wee at the moment - we are potty training dd2, and still having wet beds from ds :( I've got a weaning session here on thursday morning so the place needs to be spick and span and the sofas sit-on-able..... which they aren't currently!!!

A bit of news from us though - ds had a special workshop at the Birmingham Royal Ballet a couple of weeks ago - they came into school and did a workshop with the whole of the year, and in 18 other schools - from the 1400 children they saw they picked 200 to go to the sunday workshop, and from there they picked 40 to go on their Dance Track programme with free tuition for a year, workshops at their facilities at the Hippodrome and cheap tickets to the performances. And ds is one of them!:j He's very excited, as are we! - He'll start in september and luckily one of his buddies was chosen as well so he's very up for it.

Hope everyone had a calm and peaceful weekend:)

Welcome Claire Just do what you can  I did minimal/zero housework for over 2 years and its taken a good 3-6 months of plugging away at the lists to get anywhere near a manageable level of work. Try and do a decluttering job each day because it will make a big difference. I don't do this for my OH or the kids, I do it because it makes me happier to have a cleaner and calmer habitat, so maybe its worth trying to find your own inner motivation? - I think I would feel pretty resentful if I was just working hard to please someone else in the household who wasn't appreciative of it.
  • Afternoon all! A chilly day up here in Lancashire, but at least it isn't raining! So, needless to say I didn't keep up with my list last week, but had a lovely surprise when I came back from a weekend away with mum to find a lovely tidy house (brownie points to OH for that!) I might have done a little double take when he text me to say he was busy tidying and doing dishes .
Plan for today is to get a bit of grocery shopping done, make a start on the list (thanks Natty!) and pick up some parcels.

Welcome Claire, it is a very supportive thread on here and everyone is lovely. Just do what you can, and remember what everyone has said...just do it FOR YOU!:o

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

Running to catch up with you, JTTOU! I still need to write a couple of emails and clean the kitchen floor. It's been raining, so I might forego the gardening with the lawn now too wet to mow. Anyway, my shoulder is hurting because it's cold and damp today, so I've lost my GUAG :(

Very interesting meeting with U3A this morning, looking at the restoration of the bonded warehouse :)
