Nokia LumiaIt d. depend on what you use it for .
For example there is less games in the windows store then android . But you can store apps on the sd card in win 8.1 . Lumia phones have here drive which gives you a offline sat nav . Personally Google now has the edge on cortana ,but not by much. Th. ere is book mark syncing with chrome on windows but it loads into IE There is no firefox both of wich are there on android
There is tune in radio and kindle on both platforms . No shopping apps worth a dam on windows
I 've 2 windows phones a lumia 630 and a 535 and a moto g 1st gen . 2 years ago i would of said android easy . now not so much.0 -

Also, consider purchasing the phone through Carphone Warehouse as PAYG then purchasing airtime SIM pnly or PAYG as suits your use ( http://www.billmonitor.com/ and http://www.paygdeal.co.uk/ ).
Personally I would get a more upmarket Windows phone (for example the 735) which might be quite cheap by then.
Thanks for the link. I think the sony has the better camera then the Motorola. The 735 sounds a bit pricey, but ill check it out.0 -
If you like apps - don't bother with a windows phone - the selection is rubbish. If you use Google services a lot then you won't get any integration. The web browser is also a bit rubbish.

I have a Windows 8 handset (Lumia) and an Android tablet, plus some old Android handsets in the drawer.
If I want apps, then the Android is better, but as a handset with Nokia Maps, Nokia camera that uploads to One-drive and sheer simplicity, plus better battery life, then the Lumia wins.
My Tablet is a 2013 Nexus 7 and after the 5.0 lollipop update, it was as flaky as the chocolate bar. Thankfully this morning I got the 5.1 update so it may be better. The point is that Android screws up working devices with badly tested updates and I don't need that for my phone that I need to keep in touch with immediate friends rather than play games. No such problems (to date) with Windows.
But, horses for courses and different people have different favourites so I would not condemn any choice of Operating System - even IOS !0 -
