Umm yes it is its what you pay directly to the garage to commence the work. I have the receipt with nationwides logo all over it too

Had your excess been zero you wouldn't have had to pay, excess is an insurance issue you're paying their shortfall.

Its a compulsory excess I have no control over, its a mobility vehicle. You pay it directly to the repairing garage upon a claim for damage that does not involve a third party.

Exactly, it's an insurance job so your compulsory excess is nothing to do with the garage. They want £X to repair your car and your insurance who are the customer will only pay £X minus your excess, you therefore must make up the rest. They've done the work so why should you be refunded the excess?

You may think your right and all an under a normal domestic insurer it would be the case. But you clearly are wrong!

Read this bit. its important for you to understand it!!

RSA Motability will arrange to inspect and authorise repairs to the vehicle. Before repairs are undertaken, you will be required to pay the appropriate excess to the repairer. The balance of the repairer's account will be paid direct to the garage

It's a condition set out between yourself, mobility finance and their insurance. Excess is nothing to do with the garage, all they are interested in is full payment. Not who pays what percentage.

Has everything to do with the garage did you read the above.

In no way did the excess get paid to the insurers. It got paid to the repairing garage.

Without it the repair would not have gone ahead even if the insurers wanted it to because I have to pay the repairing garage to commence "repairs" with the stated £75 excess.

hows that so hard for you to understand.

OP, are you trying to make a lengthy process even more tortured? You have demanded the vehicle back with the repair incomplete (don't care if it is a single "Fiat" decal or a body wrap) and they will only hand it over on payment of their invoice and a completed happy sheet. How likely is it then that your decal replacement will stay at the top of their priority list?

It very simple when you go into asda do they care whether you pay with earned income or benefit money? No, they just want their payment in full. Same with Nationwide in this case. The fact you have a shortfall on what your insurance agree to pay is no concern of theirs.

I Have the car already and not signed any happy sheet.

I have been informed the decals are now to be installed through my local main dealer, and not nationwide.
