Thanks gang. Lucky i TT everyday into an everyday saver then send the pot across on the last day of each month to mortgage. Last month it got to £19.96.
Long day in work so only a fleeting visit to report that £18.92 of current account savings interest was sent to mortgage today so December is off and running!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Hey Jimmy
Re 1p - remember the Macawber principle! Think it went something like :
'Income one pound - expenditure 19 shillings and 11 pence - result happiness; income one pound - expenditure 20 shillings and one pence - result misery!' (not a direct quote but you get the idea :-)
Must do Tilly Tidies from Friday - trouble is that until yesterday was totally NSD ! :-)
Nite all!Aim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j
NSDs 2015:185/330 (allowing for hols etc)
LBM: started Jan 2012 - still learning!
Life gives us only lessons and gifts - learn the lesson and it becomes a gift.' from the Bohdavista :j0 -
Great point! You could view TT's as a financial reward for a NSD. If my account is on a round number already then I reward with a full £1 TT.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

I had originally hoped we'd be in the £99,xxxs by the end of the year but far from the end of the world
Anyway, nearly home time
Cheers
Hi Jimmy,
Just looked online, turned out to be £44.50 above the magic £100,000
Last month worked out as £6.63 interest per day whereas previous to the overpayment it was £7.20 per day.
All good.
All the best!0 -
Jeep - aren't they lovely bonuses to spot!
So I have a quandary... For the end of calendar year I had a target balance of £126,500 and this was very ambitious in March! I know that without any OP's this month that I'll make that target, therefore in my mind it isn't a target any longer...
So what do I do for motivation this month? Revise this target, revise the next 6 months worth or think of a mini target for the month. I really can't decide! My forecast looks like an approx OP total of £510 which is brilliant in Christmas month, providing we don't have any home disasters!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
I've been revising the target to avoid getting complacent.
Whatever you do, it's a nice quandary to have!

Well that's some achievement and one to be proud off
As your target is met i'd just start focusing on the next.
I know what you mean though it gets addictive.
For example I'm happy with our mortgage over-payments being on target so any surplus e.g. bank bonuses, quidco, FITS and RHI etc get pumped into the wife's SIPP which then attracts the tax relief boost bringing an even smile to my face
[The SIPP will be drawn-down tax free within her personal allowance]0 -
Id go for under £126k.
That's what you'll aim for isnt it?!?!
You wont be able to help yourself!!!0
