    Well SJ

celebs name kids after where they were conceived - which is ok with Dakota but does not quite work with 'Warmingtin-on-Sea' or 'S!!!!horpe' :rotfl:

Of course you could choose names to do with money saving but i think most folks would not thank you later in life if they were called Barclays or Santander!!!

Not being helpful - am I???? :rotfl:

    But couldn't resist!!!
    Cheers

  • Hi SJ, Just read your diary - very inspiring and well done on the savings.

Congrats on your news, we have 3 boys and never thought our little girl would appear. It took us 6 months to decide on a name and had a list as big as the baby name book itself. It was only after she arrived that we settled for Iona-Grace and we are glad we did, as no other child at school or close by has her name.

I didn't know there was a slight variant to this name and probably would have changed it to Ilona, but it wasn't till she had arrived that we knew what her name would be - it just suited her.

It was much easier with the boys, best wishes, MLC.

Many years ago, the Halifax's current account was called a Maxim account. But one customer kept calling it a Maxine account - so there's a good money saving name for a girl!

  • Loving all the suggestions people. My current favourite is Penny after my 1p TT efforts!

Yesterday was a NSD and i TT'd another whole £1 this morning. I'm considering accelerating my TT efforts by TTing a set amount as reward for a NSD. So potentially yesterday i could have tidied £1 in the morning then a further £1 at night for NSD. Reckon it'd get me another £10 a month... I'll muse it over and report back!

No more money news really. Payday for us both on Friday and we';ve still got £82 in current account so i'd say we've maximised our money this month as we've also paid for the new fridge and boiler repair without dipping into savings.

The countdown to doggo having his bits chopped hots up and im now feeling sorry for him as he has no idea he'll soon becoming half a dog!! The cost of this will be from monthly surplus so again not dipping into savings.

Nice one! My one "issue" with using YNAB to budget is that by assigning every pound (and penny) a job, there's no room for TTs. Starting in October I'm planning on tidying the budget, though, by clearing out our monthly pots (food, household expenses, etc) and turning those into an OP, so I suppose that'll be my equivalent. :)
  • Im with you on that one shadow. In my budgetbudget I leave a surplus each month that gets swallowed up by those emergencies and trips. If its not needed then I make a bonus OP.

I have to say though the daily TT's really help my motivation.

Congrats on the pink flavour 😀

Just wondering how you're so sure there won't be a number 4 (bearing in mind the gender neutral bedroom and pram) - are you booked in at the vets as well :o
