  • Lucky - 1p TT! That's happened a couple of times now and i have to admit it disappoints, i actually like it when its a whole £1.

Today was a tad spendy with scan pictures, car parking, drinks and then we had a parents thing at school, this evening so ended up getting a take-away. Its definitely a rarity for us and as it was unexpected it was very very enjoyable. Even tried a new takeaway which was superb.

We've booked our doggie in for his bits chopped next Friday and that going to cost £110! Scheduled it for payday though so we can pay at start of months banking to make it easier to plan.

So tonight's job is to start thinking of girl names. Mrs SJ was convinced it was another boy and had refused to discuss girls names so we've literally go nothing, It took us 3 weeks to name the hamsters as we had no girl names!

Fab news on a girl :j and :rotfl: at the hair. Shopping for pink things to start in earnest?

We found it easier to come up with girls names than boys...a last minute in the scan room decision to find out what it was resulted in...the little devil keeping his back to us :rotfl:.

    I find a take-away is appreciated more when it's a treat.

Love the 1p TT too :)

  • Our girl name difficulty is there's a huge glut of girls in both families/friends and so many of the names we like are already taken. Add to that we favour short names as they go better with our surname so we're reducing our options straight away.

Big decision now is yellows or greens for the nursery as Mrs SJ is adamant it isn't being pink!

Yesterday i brought all the bags of baby and toddler clothes down from the loft that we'd kept in case of number 3. So it now looks like there'll be some big ebay sessions coming up with all the boy clothes we have. We're definitely stopping at 3!!!

  • Congrats - glad its Ok ad what you wanted! Agree with Mrs SJ - dont overwhelm female with pink!! She'll get enough of that anyway!! My son wears a pink t-shirt (age 29) just to rattle people's cages! (also t-shirt which says ' I can see your lips moving but all I can hear is Blah Blah Blah'

    Kids heh!
    Cheers
    Nite all

  • Totally with Mrs SJ miniocc (boy) has always had green or yellow.

If you look at colour psychology websites green is a perfect colour for a newborn (random Google search brings up a few good sites). He has recently moved onto yellow by his own choice but that's a football thing!

Miniocc often wears pink too and has been mistaken for a girl more than once!
  • Hiya

  • DFOD - I have a plan! My quidco cashback for account opening is due by 5th November and as soon as i've received the cashback im off! At the minute im thinking of using Coop as they have £40 cashback on quidco for switching plus £100 off coop for a compete switch. I'm only using Santander for DD'd so its not a major switch for me but will generate £140 for OP fund. I'll keep the CC for the year at least seeing as i've had the £24 fee refunded and then see whats happening and see if i can get a fee reduction by threatening to close. If they don't then i'll shop around and move on.

I had earmarked Coop to switch my nationwide account once the 5% interest period ends, so i'll be on the look out in Jan/Feb for my next victim!

Been a busy few days with work, birthday parties, furniture removals and elderly family member visiting so i'm now exhausted! In money updates i've TT'd another £1 today, bring the total to £15.81 for the 20 days of September so far. Lyn i'm fully on board with the effectiveness of TT's, and can hear the excitement in your posts!

I have £40 of quidco expected on Weds from a pet insurance policy. If we get it we'll be close to a £550 OP total for Sept which will knock £1025 off balance and get us into the 128k's by a few pence so i'm really excited about posting our numbers in the next 10 days (time for a countdown Ali?).

Mrs SJ continues to be adamant about no pink...or minimal anyway. We've bought a pram today in a black and purple type colour (its bound to be called something different but you know blokes and colours) so its now starting to feel very real. Especially as we've had some lengthy name discussions! Which leads me onto some names we've picked up from nursery ...wait for it...it'll be worth the suspense "Budweiser" and "Notorious". Now i've no idea which brand of children they are so i'm welcome to hear other peoples opinions!!

Think we'll be more traditional than those!

Early night tonight and then Monday means NSD!
