Been quite absent from here for a few days. Its an insanely busy time at work at the minute.
Anyway money updates. Halifax rewards are in and have been OP'd so that £15, or 2 days of interest taken care of for the month. I've also got another £5 worth of small change so i'll change that for a note in work tomorrow then OP from current account. I've TT'd £1 for the last 2 days, and had a very productive road kill day yesterday finding 2 x 5p!
The upshot Halfiax rewards is that we're now in the 120k's! All be it briefly until interest is added to mortgage.
As a forecast for the month of September its looking like OP total will be £490 unless quidco cashback comes in, then is could get add another £87 across the 3 payments predicted to be at the end of the month.
Its shaping up to be a spendy month from the early part so we need to reign in a bit from now on. Other than budgeted spends i'm hoping we can last 16 days on £130, so i need no more surprises!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -

Naughty me not posted yesterday! So brief update for i exit work.
TT'd £1 today and yesterday, so that little find is doing nicely at £7.79 in 10 days! After a few technical issues with Santander credit card (and lack of time for myself to phone) i've finally sorted the direct debit from 123 to get the £24 refunded. I just need to be disciplined to transfer the money in time, but i'm sure i'll be fine as i've developed mega account discipline/obsession in the last 6 months).
Earlier this week i was concerned about the money we seemed to be spending, but we've reigned it in and really it's been down to uniforms. Just need to get through a weekend of spending little and we'll be totally fine (Mrs SJ has a rotten cold so won't be going anywhere!).
We now hit the mid month slump until payday/paying out day on the 25th, so im hoping the daily TT technique will keep motivation high!
Finally in disastrous news the fridge has finally given up the ghost! So we do need to buy a new one.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
I wondered where you'd gone, such is the regularity with which you post!
What a pain re the fridge, hope Mrs SJ is better soon. If you're anything like us we need a quiet weekend, the littlies are knackered after starting SchoolDFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Unfortunately my boys are machines! Not sure how but they just power through everything. At most 30mins in front of TV is like a microwave sleep - 8hrs in 3mins...MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Hiya y'all
Poppin by to record me Friday 'tilly tidies' (£1 coins; 50p coins; 20p coins into my 'century saver' the rest into a little ex-mustard pot in the kitchen drawer) £1.13 from food and cleaning budget (allowed £5 per week + fortnightly veg box) + £2 from entertainment budget (£10 per week).
Pleased with that over a year £3.13 per week =£ 162.76 - is that correct??? Its what the calculator says??? Wow!!! :j
hadnt thought of tilly tidying quite so thoroughly before reading you diary Jimmy - so many thanks for the inspiration!

Like it Lyn! TT's are fantastic!
So brief update whilst house is quiet for 5 mins. TT'd £1 this morning and spotted that our account is very very low considering we're 13 days from pay day. So i investigated where our money had gone and spotted something that hit me like a wet fish across the mush... We' haven't had our child benefit for the month yet! Now i blatantly know when it gets credited to the account and it hasn't changed for 6 years so i'm at a loss as to why i'd forgot! The result is we're totally fine money wise for the month and in fact will have a good amount to spare that will reduce the amount needed from savings for the new fridge!
But don't tell Mrs SJ as she thinks we're in for a mega thrifty fortnight and what she doesn't know... :shhh:MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0
