  • Ali & DFOD - thank you for motivation!

Tilly - with the success you've had its good to hear that you have also been an advocate of 1p Tilly's!! You are the 'godmother' of the TT's!

I have some exciting news. Those that have subjected their eyes to my ramblings over the last 6 weeks may recall my fence that needed painting. Well after several weeks of rain delays i have finally painted the inside!! The only problem is once i'd packed away and had a shower i realised i'd forgotten to paint the gate - grrr!

Oh bet that was annoying. Job for the weekend?
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18
  • It certainly wiped my smug grin away! Its only a 15min job so i'll defo get to it over the weekend, weather permitting. And right on cue its started raining again!

Had a quick check on credit card and banking as well and its shaping up to be a spendy couple of weeks so we'll have to reign things in a touch...

TSB & Nationwide interest have been scooped up and OP'd so we're up and running for September with £17.91 so far. I get our Halifax rewards on the 8th, so middle of next week we'll hit £32.91 and with it be temporarily into the 120k's :j I'm also about 80p short of the next £5 in small change so i'll raid Mrs SJ's purse and i may have enough for a £5 OP on Monday :D

In Santander news all our DD that pay cashback have been transferred and a money shuffle SO sorted. Still not sorted the DD for CC though that's my fault as i keep forgetting to ring up.

  • Hi Folks

Its Friday - the day I kinda tilly tidy into my Century Saver and coin pot! this week it was £1.20 to the Saver; 3p to the pot;and 30p to the purse that lives in the car for car parking money!

Its only little but you folk on here understand that is important :-)

So to make my self value £1.53 a bit more I worked it out if I did that every week for a year £ 79.56!!! Now that could buy a lot of things.

Well done re fence - same re gate ! I too am hoping for good weather as the flippin grass has grown again and it is now time to start imitating Indiana Jones and hack back shrubs and bushes!! :rotfl:

    Nite all!
Aim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j
NSDs 2015:185/330 (allowing for hols etc)
LBM: started Jan 2012 - still learning!

  • Funnily enough Lyn Mrs SJ posted a PPI letter yesterday also. She was dreadful with money until we met and I confiscated her cards...!! So she's fully expecting to have paid without knowing on loans she had in her rebel years!

As for colours of bricks Iike your thinking!!

54p TT'd this morning and that's all I have to report!!!

Oh Santander annoyed me actually. I emailed to say I was struggling to amend a direct debit online etc etc... Explaining what I'd done. Their reply was to try exactly what I'd done and explained! Poor reading skills. It was all I could do to be polite and not refer to their inept reading skills!! I eagerly await their 2nd response

How do you know you have had ppi and who with after such a period of time. I'm sure in my youth I must have had ppi but wouldn't remember details on any loans and credit cards. Who do you send letter to?
  • **** re the gate, but you'll soon get that sorted this weekend I bet!

  • OCC theres some template letters on MSE to send to any banks you had loans and CC's with. They should then check all your paperwork (it should exist still somewhere) and see if those tiny tick boxes have been filled in etc... At worst it'll cost a couple of stamps.

£1 TT'd this morning. Been raining heavily through the night so no gate painting this morning!

  • Lyn - your 3p saving smashed my 1p effort... In terms of grass cutting, I got rid of mine in favour artificial and I now sit in the garden with tea and papers listening to all those poor souls having to cut grass with all its hayfever!!
