  • Hi SJ

We have both the tesco and sant123 credit cards.

Tesco - We've benefited from clubcard boost etc and I tend to use as a normal credit card and pay off after each bill.

Sant123 - use only for fuel, Oyster card, national rail, supermarket shopping and dept store shopping (ie and debenhams/m&s Xmas pressies shopping in the sale) since sept 2014 we've made over £51
We have a joint account (Halifax) for our monthly spending & shopping so I just transfer money out of it straight to the S123 Cc so it's usually a zero balance by the time the statement arrives.
The Sant123 current account has DDs paid out for all bills and 3% on our savings. (Currently just over £3k) Usually get £9-12 per month after the £2 fee. What i particularly like is their cash back deals. Usually the same as the companies which Halifax offers but a better %. Ie Halifax offered us 6% cb on Argos - Sant offered 10%

As OCC said, the Sant app (and improved Halifax app) is really good. I do a lot of my accounting en route to somewhere :-)

It's the management of our Joint Hal and the sant123 credit and current accounts which provides my daily mse activity, once pay day and money monthly shuffles have been and gone. (Bit like your tilly tidies)

    I rate them highly

MiB - im happy with that! Naturally all of the cash back profit will go to mortgage, so even £5 a month will be well received.

How's the decorating going i hear you all ask? Well no totally to plan, but its going! You may recall the earlier plan around work and family being away.

[STRIKE]Thursday Evening - Pack kids and Mrs SJ off to caravan
Thursday Evening - Empty room, polyfill, sand down, remove lights and decide whether new are needed or will clean up[/STRIKE] - Lights will clean up thankfully as Mrs SJ cant find any others she likes.
    [STRIKE]Friday Morning - Work
Friday Afternoon - Ceiling x 2 coats & Undercoat[/STRIKE] Not fully done as only managed 1 coat on ceiling
    [STRIKE]Friday Evening - Work[/STRIKE]
    Saturday - Work 8.30-4
Saturday Evening - 1st Coat on Walls & 2nd Coat of Ceiling
Sunday - Second Coat on Walls & Gloss
NB - If time defeats me, I have a contingency day of Tuesday for gloss

So i'm still optimistic of completing by Sunday night, but i have one extra hour to do tomorrow night on the 2nd coat on ceiling. I'm thinking that i'll get 2-3 of the walls done tomorrow for first coat but may have to roll 1-2 walls over to Sunday morning. Either way i'm confident of catch up! Busy, busy day tomorrow though :(:(:(

  • Sounds like you are doing fab SJ.

I used to have the tesco CC and it was fab for the boost, but they annoyed me about something and I cancelled the card, do intend to get another though in time to use for everything non sant@nder cashback related.

Hmm - wonder if I get cashback on applying.. *scuttles off to check*

Catch up complete and back on track. Contingency day will not be needed and has been reallocated to snoozing!

NSD today so happy with money front. £1 tilly tidied this morning. I will have some paint to take back as i over calculated quite significantly, so £20 back into decorating fund. Best not tell Mrs SJ as she'll only want to spend on accessories like cushions...
