OK so i'm already behind! Poly filling took extra long time as it was worse than i thought. That meant i ran out of time to sand down and take lights down (it had actually gone dark by then). So mega pressure on tomorrow afternoon now!
No money news to report. I spent £4 on lunch which is a rarity for me! I did have another look at Santander 123 account after being inspired by 'debtfree'. With both the current and CC (CC would replace tesco card which is used for all purchases and paid in full) we'd make a minimum of £98 a year in cashback. So i think we'll go ahead.
To get a cashback reward for the current account would a partial switch still qualify, or does anyone know if cashback will get paid for opening without a switch?i use quidco for cashback. I haven't really got an account to sacrifice and would need to switch a few DD from an account that we can't close. :undecidedMFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
No afternoon naps for you then, playing catch up already!
Am quite tempted with the Spanish 1-2-3 too but don't want to close my only other current account (Cl0b Lloyds). I think I should get a TSB one next. Decisions, decisions....Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
i have FD as main account with mortgage. 3 x Halifax for the rewards, 2 x TSB for savings, 1 x nationwide for savings. Adding one more doesn't seem to traumatic, i just want to make sure i get the £35 cashback for signing up! Need a plan...
I have no chance of any afternoon nap till next weekend...MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Hi Shangai Jimmy and others on this thread
I have read your diary through from the beginning. It is very inspiring. I am not in a position to MFW yet but once I have got rid of my debt - that is the next goal.
So why am I reading? Because I like the title - I am not fond of the banks and think folk who can use them wisely and make money from them are brilliant!!:j
Then got caught up in how you move money around and Tilly Tidy - valuing even the couple of pence. you have inspired me to work on my £800 OD this week - where even although I have no money coming in this week (am self employed in Education field) I have tilley tidied/checked old purses/asked for loans back and been able thus to 'earn' £140 this week!!
More to 'earn' @ wkend cos should be getting £100 + that I have loaned folk - and, after years of driving gig gear around for free I have asked for petrol money and will get fed for free!
Have also applied for some market research stuff (where I get paid to give opinions)
Dont know if my updates would be welcome on here or not as its not MFW but will still lurk for inspiration. Well done all of you.
take care
LAim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j

Life gives us only lessons and gifts - learn the lesson and it becomes a gift.' from the Bohdavista :j0 -
Hi Lynplatinum - I'm still tackling the last of my debt with the mortgage very much the next focus and I've a diary on here which is massively motivational! You'd be welcome!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
MFW (08/08) £118k Gone (09/23)0 -
Uh-oh SJ - no sleep for you!!
Seriously I send you coffee, chocolate and whatever else you need to get you through the weekend, turn your music up and sing - I always find that helps me when decorating!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

LymmPlatinum - you lurk away or post away. The more the merrier! All support for each other is welcome. Great plan on the OD - little suggestion, when every you pay some of it off then reduce the OD limit by that same amount (£50, £75 etc,,,) then you can't dip back in.
Debtfree - i'll deal with cups of tea and absolute radio 90's. Its the dog i feel sorry for, as it'll be less walks!
MFW news - having slept on the Santander dilemma i'm going to crack on. What one more account other than a new line on my accounts spreadsheet?!? I'll try for cashback and see if it tracks, if not i'll begrudgingly live with it, though i'll get it for the CC.
TT's a whole £1 this morning, am totally skint now (other than cash in Mrs SJ's purse for her weekend and £10 in mine, but i ain't going anywhere...). Thankfully child benefit gets paid early next week so we're fine then until payday in 10 days. Though have got dog booster jabs to pay for next week so we may dip into overdraft by £10 :eek:MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Can sympathise...
Just repainted the kitchen and dining room, two big rooms with F&B paint
Well it was mostly the wife, I just do the less fun bits
At least making our own blinds bit is MSE
Decided to get back into stoozing now that lot's of opportunities are around
All the best!0
