Thank you for the suggestions. Quite a bit of stuff has gone via the local FB groups. It's just the stuff thats left. Only so many times you can keep putting it on there before it just needs to be gone!!
** A toy piano and stool (DD has outgrown it) has been claimed by friends for their twin 18month yr olds. That's a good item gone out of the living room, and can count as 2 items for today as frequently the stool is adrift from the paino and in an inconvenient place!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......4 -

£1 TT to start the day off, and then a morning of no home schooling so cups of tea and cricket. Followed by sausage and eggs barms. I then capitalised on the dry weather and went for leisurely 3 mile stroll.
Highly productive couple of hours this afternoon. We attacked both boys wardrobes and sets of drawers and ended up with a bin bag for charity. I also did a mini re order of some furniture in DS1's room (we inherited a 5 drawer set of drawers at Christmas) and a sift through some carp that had ended up in the bowels of the wardrobe. I have a big shelf of toys/games left to do tomorrow.
I thought I would strike whilst on a roll and did the tip run I was threatening yesterday. I was determined to get stuff out of the garage so loaded it up and added a bedside table and a set of plastic drawers long since past their sell by date. An old duvet was subsequently delivered to a friend who goes out to the homeless on weekends. And finally (I'm not sure if this was the right thing or not but I really wanted the bags out of the house) I placed 2 bin bags and 1 large carrier bag worth of clothes into one of those charity skips/bins that are on supermarket car parks, rather than wait till the local charity shop reopens.
Tomorrow I will drop off another bag of clothes, a toy read along teddy and the piano and stool to our friends. I really need to do this task when DD isn't in and starts asking where her piano is going!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......6 -
That sounds like an amazing clear-up Jimmy, lots of space created. Erm, you're not letting go of a toy that your little DD loves, are you?2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Hmmm, a toy that she loves but has definitely out grown! On the face of it when you look at the loaded car and the bags in the house ready to go you presume that space is created, but in reality the other stuff seems to seep out into that space! I've also decided that I'm changing my terminology. I'm no longer decluttering, I am now reframing it that I'm reclaiming the house, or space, or both!! I will check back in later with my 'house reclamation' achievements for the day!
Quick update before I head off for a long run. I've OP'd our card purchases round up pot which stood at £5.84 for the week.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......7 -
Ooh, does that mean you will be looking for some architectural salvage for your reclamation location? I love a bit of salvage and re-use...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

So project house reclamation has staggered on today. I dropped off piano, piano stool and bag of assorted clothes to our friends as planned. And then removed a storage bench from DD's room. It was well utilised in every nursery we've had but in the last 2-3 years has moved from room to room trying to find a home. In all honesty it has just hidden stuff that we should have got rid of, so this time it has been emptied (and contents disposed accordingly). Mrs SJ then posted in on the local FB page and 2 hours later it had been collected and gone!
So I am also decluttering our storage as well!

As for the rest of the day I managed a 10 mile trot, 2 dog walks and a short socailly distanced 'caring' visit to my folks to check they were doing ok.
This evening I will be enjoying a couple of cold beers and trying not to think about home schooling that lies in wait...darn it I just thought about itMFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......6 -
Loving the decluttering of the storage 😀 Much better to just get rid of the stuff than spend time and money on just tidying it!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
