Abandoning the holiday early sounds sensible and hope you have a decent first day at work.

Survived! It was actually a very productive day as well! Not quite a no spend day as I had to nip out to do some banking for work so I nipped to get jumpers and PE hoodies for the boys. Budgetted spends though. Am
half wathcing the football and then will be in bed with a boo, at 10!

Quality of life, Jimmy, you're so right - once the mortgage is "manageable", quality of life comes to the fore, whether thats pension in the future, a cluttered house, or present day experiences. I love reading of your thoughts on this, as well as your actions.

You're so right KC, we have only been saying the last few days that things seem so much more settled now we have got finances in order, we feel able to 'live' life more, with more quality. I'm waffling, but the words really struck a chord with me!

Only had 2 days in work and I'm exhausted! I wouldn't mind but its not exactly been too taxing a 2 days either!!

I did realise today that I'd forgotten to put my expenses in, grrrr! Its about £90 worth as well, double grrr! So I've popped an alert on my calendar for next month to remind me i need to submit 2 months worth. Plus Mrs SJ has about £40 worth to pay in also.

Something I have started is to try and read a book every night at 10pm. I'm only ever browsing diaries (which is a good thing i hasten to add) with rubbish on the tv in the background, and I wanted to stop doing it. I took DS1 off with me to join the library on Saturday morning and so far I've stuck to it and enjoying it. So much so that tonight I'm looking at the clock thinking about going up to bed earlier!!! Lets see how long it lasts...

I'm trying to scroll less (social media) and read more too. Have so many good books waiting to be read too.

Fortunately I am a strict non (un)social media user (unless MFW forums are classed as the very same??) so at least i can't get sucked into the mindless thumb scrolling (I work with teenagers and its alarming at how a habitual it has become, but that for another conversation). Reading didn't go too well last night, as 5 pages in and I had the heaviest head in the world and fell asleep sat up!!

2 days till payday, so looking forward to that, and thankfully only 1 birthday in September to cater for.

Well I've not posted for a week, and I have no idea why?!?! Its not like I've been anywhere.

Anyway, paydays x 2 have been and gone in a whimper. A few money shuffles around, majority of direct debits have now gone out following the extra day with the bank holiday and everything looks nice and healthy. There are no birthdays to cover this month and we only have school shirts left to buy for DS1. I'm really hoping for a quiet account activity month but as ever time will tell on that one.

Only 2 days left until accounts posting and a month closer to freedom!

I'm one of the lurkers and you normally don't hear from me - but it was noticed that you hadn't posted as I went looking for the monthly update yesterday and had to go to page 5 to realise you hadn't given an update - shocking behaviour!
