Err not advisable (especially for children) but sometimes needs must.
A cold wet flannel wipe of the face as you come indoors used to help me as a kid. I remember those jabs Jimmy. They were steroid ones. Marvellous but beware the development of early onset cataracts as a result of steroids. I've had that too...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Firstly i need to apologise for being neglectful in keeping up with other diaries. Without being dramatic i'm having a truly terrible time with hayfever (strangely today has been ok so far), and its leaving me shattered and very grumpy! DS1 is also the same. So it seems like everything is so difficult.
Anyway the sun keeps rising so...I OP'd our weekly TT pot this morning and it stood at a lovely £4.64 which is more than a days interest taken care of! Our shopping in 2 shops per month is working a treat and we do seem to be less wasteful and we've ended up shaving about £80 off our usual monthly bill.
We've also made a decision on our few days away for my birthday. Birthday is this month but we're going in Sept as this month isn't possible for us and then we hit school hols and everyone knows how that gets! So we opted for Jersey for something different and its only a short flight. Flights have cost £48 each return which sounds fantastic. We have several options for hotels and no real hurry to book so Mrs SJ is weighing it all up.
My running continues and is going well and at least i know that i have no hayfever when im running. So far there's only been 1 running day where i have been too hayfever shattered to get out, and then i missed 1 run when we went away. My stats so far are; 21 days of returning to running and i have ran on 10 occasions. I have ran for 41miles and so am averaging 4miles per run, with my shortest being 2.67 and my longest was 6.
Of my 500 mile before New Year challenge i have 459 miles to go (gulp)! And i will be knocking off 4 of those in the next hour, now that it has cooled down.
So onwards and downwards on all fronts (just hoping that pollen count starts to go go now).MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Where has this week gone?? Thursday already! I also had the realisation that school holidays are fast approaching and we've not even considered planning the days and weeks.
Moneywise we have had our multi car insurance re-quote...wait for it...£100 more, 23% increase! Do they not know i am a member of a financial mastery forum?!?! So a job for the coming week me thinks.
So far this week i have TT'd £3.07, and very happy to report that little has been happening current account spending which is always a good thing. We have £350 left and 11 days to payday (Fathers Day is already taken care of), with 1 food shop and 1 car needing petrol. So looks like a good money management month so far...
I've done 2 small runs so far this week (4 miles for each), with a 5mile run scheduled for this evening, and that will excitedly take me past the 50 mile mark on my 500 mile challenge!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Quick check in. Just done a car insurance quote. Requote was £634, new quote £507...no brainer!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

11 days since i last logged in
Life has been ridiculous these last 2 weeks. Family health scares and operations x 2, and a few manic weeks at work out of nowhere, plus a 40th birthday for me (with party)! I have managed to keep things relatively MSE, my daily TT's are now ingrained so i don't forget those and we managed to pay for the party out of my Matched Betting pot :j
I've just about managed to keep on top of my running. I have ran for 74.5 miles in 4 weeks, so only 425.5 miles to go!!
Definitely back on the diary focus as of today... (famous last words)...
5 days till accounts posting and networth calcs...:jMFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -

Good to see you back SJ! Wondered where you were (says she, who has updated her own just once in the last fortnight). It is that Dullsville Tennessee moment with my accounts. just waiting for both paydays (first is tomorrow) so I can update everything. I do like a nice tidy-up.

Thanks Karma and Suffolk. All is improving lets say. Home and recovering (stubbornly)!
Suffolk I'm totally with you on the payday things. I got paid today and was excitedly shuffling money around whilst having my morning brew today. Mrs SJ payday is Friday, so i can really start to think about the month end, and so big OP's and then spreadsheet fiddles!
3 jobs tomorrow...1. Action the car insurance and cancel requote. 2. Book my car in for service. 3. Book Mrs SJ car in for summer health check (service plan).
Oh and fit a 4mile run in, which i think i'll do as soon as i get in work rather than at lunch before the heat really kicks in.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0
