Day 2 negotiated and guess what... the meeting was actually very worthwhile! So not a wasted day at all. Traffic was kind so i actually got home at 5.45. And as much as i liked Dvix suggestion of having a nap i had to be sociable!
Started the day with a 16p TT so ticking along ok.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
90p TT this morning whilst the kettle boiled. I really need to get to the post office today with the ebay sales from Sunday. So in my 12hr work day i think i'll be nipping out for a walk! Not much else happening at the minute, just work-life balance taking a major hit but it was always expected.
As the Spring time has finally started i'm also thinking of all those outside jobs that will need doing and i'm determined to get them done early this year. Therefore a list in in the offing, and will be put on the fridge for me to cross off. It may also keep Mrs SJ from giving me too many inside jobsMFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
61p TT this morning and we now at the mid month hump, so countdown to accounts posting starts... And with this month i have the extra joy of a reg saver paying out in 1st April.
I'm on a course for the next 4 days, so although technically work days at least i can switch mind away from work and onto learning. The last 4 days of the course were excellent so i'm looking forward to it. Phone off, out of office on...MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Up and at em this morning with a £1 TT over kettle boiling, which is so much more rewarding than emptying the dishwasher (that's my other kettle boiling duty). I'm ticking off the days and so far 7 are done and have 5 left before i get a day off. Today is a big one though. Leave at 8.30 for school run, then head off on the car park (sorry motorway) for a 15 miles journey that will no doubt take 90mins again. Full day at a course, then dash back on the car park for 90mins and into work for 5hrs! Home for 10.30pm, straight to bed and get refreshed for 2 full days on the same course over Sat and Sun!!
In more important/devastating news DD can now climb out of here cot, which we discovered at 4am, and my brakes need some attention in the car. Just hoping is pads and not pads and discs!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
I empty the dishwasher while my porridge is cooking... you must work super fast to do it while the kettle boils!
I can't imagine that was a fun discovery at 4am in the midst of your chaotic work time, but well done her, she's definitely growing up!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Totally sympathise with the cot thing - aged under 18 months (having climbed over his cot) caught him standing on the chest of drawers on tiptoe holding on to the top of the wardrobe a door opening width away, moved him into a bed days later, much safer. As for safety plugs - they were just a challenge & an inconvenience to others. As for safety gates, he quickly discovered that the bottom of them was vulnerable whilst the top was not. If she is that way inclined you would probably better off teaching the dangers than concentrating on protecting. Much better to have her running to you proudly announcing that she has opened the front door than opening it and going out. Whilst you are recovering from your heart attack, congratulate her on coming to you & letting you know.

Badmemory - its all about the memories and stories! We've never bothered with the safety gates, and instead taught the kids how to come down safely (or more safely). So far they've all survived so we'll take that as a positive. Cot will be dismantled today before Mrs SJ properly falls out with me!!
£1 TT this morning with a hint of glee. Fortunately the car only cost £125. Brakes were ok (something to do with a clip???) but a pipe was missing which was causing another problem, So in a way it was lucky the clip thin for the brakes needed re-clipping as that meant we discovered a potential bigger problem.
Onwards and upwards. 9 days done, 3 days to go before a day off. I'm hoping my drive will be ok today weather wise. Weather is fine where we are but my destination is right ion the edge of the snow warnings, so hoping its wrong by 5miles in may favour!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Hehe, bet she was proud of herself!

Rightly so, here's another one . . . remember when my darling nephew couldn't reach the door handle, so promply took the cushions off the sofa and stood on them - golden moment :rotfl:
Been snow flurries here all day but not landing - thank goodness, don't want a repeat of week before last, as of Monday lunch - I'm officially on leave for 14 days :jAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
14 days leave, so envious! Snow was ok yesterday. Drive there was fine, drive home was a bit testing. Visibility in a few places was only 50m, but the snow wasn't big enough to stick.
Managed to get the cot sides off and converted into a bed. The room looks so much bigger! I also managed to changes Mrs SJ's pedals on her bike, so i'm in good books this morning (that wont last the day though!!)
In money news i made a £1 TT this morning and then OP'd the weekly pot which sat at £5.67, so really happy with that. Overall my TT's for the month sit at £10.38.
Well breakfast, shower and off to work. 10 days done, 2 to go...MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0
