  • Brand buying is for their grandparents and rich Aunty, I'm a supermarket clothes shopper all the way!

My nieces have a broke/MSE aunt and uncle so they get clothes from the Asda George reduced sale. But you can get some adorable things at good prices and a six month old doesn't care! (But looks really good in a £2 reindeer babygrow. :rotfl:)
  • In all honesty our boys look like theyv'e been dragged through a hedge by the time they've come downstairs, so the expense of clothes has no bearing!!

Busy day that ended up with 3 dog walks alongside football and swimming lessons. Remote control was found so am watching the tennis whilst Mrs SJ is out on her bike. Both dogs snoring and kids in bed!

6 ebay items sold so £22 profit, and will post on Monday. I've also made about £30 MB today with a possible £25 still to come, so quite happy with that.

  • Glad to hear Mrs SJ is still using her bike! It seems it's been a good investment so far.
We've been lucky with clothes as the girls have older cousins who've been passing on their clothes. (Long may that last!)

Good luck with your sub 100k goal Jimmy. We got there and it felt brilliant, such a huge milestone.
Just need to get there again now since our additional borrowing for extension!

Catching up with me real quick.... told ya you would ;)
    Total Mortgage OP £61,000
    Outstanding Mortgage £27,971
    Emergency Fund £62,100
I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>

  • Thanks Busy and Cath, its good to have support and to know that others are going through he same turmoil/torture. Someone assured me it would be worth it...hmmmm!

Lippy - am i actually catching you though...! It never seems as if i'm closing the gap!?!?!?

Good day today and a NSD for me and Mrs SJ (which is a rarity for Mrs). Made a start on presents too (online only as i refuse to go the shops)...go us! But more importantly i tackled the shambles that was the boys bedrooms! I threatened DS1 that his room has to stay tidy for at least a week...i give it till Thursday before it looks like a Tasmanian devil has been in there!

2 dog walks in my favourite dog walk weather; cold and crisp. And been watching the tennis final and typing this in between change of ends breaks.

This time of year is great for me as i'm on countdown to Christmas time off. I have 25 days, and 19 work days to go until i have 3 weeks off, yay!! Sorry take 2 work days off as i'm off Thurs and Fri this week. It genuinely isn't planned this way but my final day in work is the day the darts starts, which is a nice bonus (much to Mrs SJ disgust, especially when i exclaim that Christmas is all about the darts).

In more important mortgage news (given this is the purpose of the diary), I TT'd £1 today and then OP'd the weekly pot of £5.23. Was surprisingly pleased that the amount was more than the daily interest for a change, and it felt like a small nerdy victory!

This week First Direct have finally added mortgage account to the list of accounts that we can see on our internet banking. Strangely it comes up on the mobile app but not the online one yet?!?!? It has always irked me that i couldn't see it online, and now that has changed i really do have no negatives about FD bank now!

Right, last few games of deciding set then it early night for me.

Have a great ending to the week, and a good start to next everyone.

  • Ooh, thanks for the head's up on FD finally including the mortgage display somewhere. So (nerdily) exciting!
  • Quick check in to report a 1p TT!!

  • Decent day yesterday. Made some more progression on Christmas, and have a big delivery coming on Thursday. Other than the little bitty things for the kids we're done!

Booked a hotel and spa for this weekend. A rare night away from the 3 kids (first one actually since baby SJ was born and she's nearly 2!), for a belated anniversary as we missed it when i was away with work and all paid for with Novembers Matched betting winnings. Don't panic i've only used half of it as the other half will go to the mortgage on December 1st.

TT'd 33p this morning so now 34p for the week so far... Payday is Friday, so paying out day in Monday and OP day is a week on Thursday!
