  • Welcome back SJ - I'm sure that with the drop into double figures you'll have a great Christmas.

We're about 80% there on gifts and I'm going to start writing cards next week.
  • Michelle you are so right. Planning to have a good night to celebrate!!

Not much to report on. Had to buy bread and milk, and had 3 dog walks. Also made about £80 MB this afternoon.

Oh...ebay update. On sunday we attacked the kids clothes. 3 bags to charity and 2 to ebay pile. Managed to get 31 items listed and 4 of those have bids, so at worst we'll make £18 this weekend. Id say there's about 25 things left to list and am hoping to make a dent in that on Sunday.

I admire your commitment to ebaying kids clothes, the only ones i bother to eBay are brands such as boden and Joules, the rest goes to cash for clothes as it gets pennies on eBay!

Brand buying is for their grandparents and rich Aunty, I'm a supermarket clothes shopper all the way!

  • Well Mrs SJ is at a concert tonight with her sister in law so i've had all 3 kids (and the baby hadn't had a sleep so was ningy from 6pm) and 2 dogs (dog sitting). Typically the dogs have been wild for 3 hours, as have the boys! Thankfully all are now pooped and the baby in bed, however crisis as i cant find the remote control, so tv is stuck on freeview channels and i really wanted to watch the darts or tennis...grrr!

Had a few household developments to report on though. Our house insurance re-quote came through and had gone down (how often does a re-quote reduce??). Whilst i was away the washing machine developed the dreaded musty smell. I did a bit of internet searching and found the magic of white vinegar which worked a treat. On from this i made a batch of homemade washing detergent, which only took 5 mins to make, and i must say it works a treat! So i'm feeling quite smug (love the work smug by the way).

Unfortunately it gives Mrs SJ yet more ammunition for nerd insults but hey ho I'm used to it now (and she's right, but i'll never admit to that out loud)!

  • Cup full of Borax, cup full of soda crystals and then grate a bar of laundry soap (own choice of flavoured laundry soap and grate with a normal cheese grater). Then mix together with a big spoon. You need 2-3 tablespoons per load, maybe 4 if you live in a hard water area.

Good start to the weekend with a 1p TT!

Dog walk in 15 mins, then DS2 to football, followed by DS2 to swimming lesson. So a day on the go which is how i prefer it, i'm not one for sitting still for long!

  • Thanks for that, where do you buy your laundry soap bars from?

  • I do my best to avoid shops, so i ordered off amazon. Using our prime delivery it was all there the next day. But i suspect you'd get all the stuff from supermarkets in the laundry aisle. You can add a stain remover bar (grated again) if you need.
