    Not even at Christmas?

Nope, mainly because I dont buy presents that have no intrinsic value. £5 of silver and leather in a gucci handbag is worth, well £5 so why pay £4000 for it and then it be worth £5 14 days later, bad present. However a £20 silver and leather handbag worth £5 after 14 days seems a much better prospect. :p In fact it would even be better to get something bespoke to your specifications and still be cheaper then that stupid brand power.

4K wont buy you a million pond lifestyle it just makes your 30k lifestyle a foolish one.

Do you have a girlfriend, Yant?

I do find these couples who obsess about finances to be weird. When you're living with/married to someone, surely you're a team - you share things, you're one unit together. If you distrust someone that much, why go out with them?

I agree with Guy completely about people who value material possessions massively. (Are you on Facebook by the way, Guy?)

A Gucci handbag won't set you back quite that much unless you were Mrs Beckham and it was being custom made for you! Any Gucci bag would be worth far more than a fiver even after a lot of use and will last you for years, as long as you don't purposely buy faddy stuff.

I don't own a Gucci handbag (I may own a pair of shoes :o) but the quality of many luxury items is evident. I doubt whether you could even buy a leather handbag that wasn't a complete piece of tat for £20. Certainly not on the High Street.

I hope that having a similar sort of job to you allows her to spend slightly more than £20 on a bag. :o

dont bet on it. You can get handmade bespoke leather bags for under 20 quid with the best leather going.

not in the UK tho :p

I can't remember the last time I paid more than 20 pounds for a handbag!

(edit: actually, that's a lie - I bought a 40 quid one in Singapore last year. That's the most I've ever spent on a handbag, and it was Japanese calf leather)

  • No... never had one either... but its nothing to do with money or my attitude to it, they jsut dont see me as attractive in the first place so they dont talk to me when im in clubs they chat to my sexy mates, who are all homeowners and no I dont think any of them would buy a girl a gucci handbag either! and they dont get with them for their houses or there sports cars as if they were theyd go out with them and not just be in it for the one night stand. Yep my mates despite having homes and getting girls easy unfortunatly cant keep em.. must be a lack of gucci handbags going their way!!! :D Well 25% of them can keep em but they arnt into feeding gucci money either.

One of my mates has been with his gf for 8 years they just split up and yes he charged her rent and that wasnt why they split up they were just board of each other and luckily she has no ability to take his hard work and roof away from him nor does she want to.

Its not a matter of trust its that if things break down people get what they can get if they can get it and its a risk that I wouldnt want to take because it happends, in fact as they say, people are more likely to get divorced and steal there partners assets then they are likely to change there main bank.

24 and never had a girlfriend?

I reckon the reason is in your sig - you're obsessed by money!

That said, I'm sort of obsessed by betting on interest rate movements.... Which is probably why dating an Interest Rates trader was a good move for me

See I told you we need a MSE dating forum.:T

In the mean time try internet dating, it's quite addictive & you never know who you might meet :grouphug:
"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.
