There was a poster on MSE who liked photos of men all greasy from fiddling with cars etc.

I must be moving up the charts!
-save and think MSE about 99% of spending (unless drunk when can sometimes just lose interest)
    -own my own place
    -can do DIY etc
    -understand toilet seats

I had no idea that men greasy with engine oil were so attractive. Did I mention I have a classic car - so you can have engine oil & drives in the country with the top down!

Might pick one of these up too, just for good measure
"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.

Well that makes them easier to ensnare and get them to shack up with you - no house to sell or notice to give on rented property! Worked for my OH anyway - decided in a couple of weeks he was coming here and that was it - never made a better decision in my life! :D

I wouldn't say it was shallow to prefer men with houses.

I would much prefer a potential GF to have her own place, as I do. Else how does any future relationship work long term? There'd have to be contracts involved and that's never good.

At what point do you say "Ok, what's half of mine is yours (and half of your nothing, or even minus is mine")? presumably when/if you get married?

But if you were to insist on that, it might prevent you from having a really good relationship with someone who hasn't got a bean?
There's more to life than money and posessions!
My ex bf had both in abundance, but had made a small financial settlement to his ex gf, and was quite happy to have a relationship on his terms with me, long distance, arms length in every sense of the word! He was so intent on keeping everything he had, he neglected our relationship and drove me away - which he has admitted on more than one occasion, he now regrets bitterly - but he put the value of money over love, which is wrong!
Suffice it to say I know which I'd rather have - and I've got it!
At the end of the day you have to trust the other person - or there's no point in having a relationship! Failing that there's always a pre-nup. :D
