  • After speaking to them again today which was a waste of time nobody knows why and who did the Bacs? They are not sure how I am suppose to pay it back and need to wait for someone to call me!
That's the last time I call, it's in my instant access ISA and staying until "They decide" when they want their money back? What a crazy situation .

Dunno why you're bothering wasting your time. Their error - its up to them to attempt to correct it.

Send both payments to me and I'll keep them safe in my special escrow service.

Charge them an admin fee for repaying their money just as they charge you a fee for selling your car to them! Totally ridiculous.

And knock £300 off 'cos the cheque was slightly smudged.

They probably stitched you up with a rock bottom price anyway, and promptly sold it on at auction for a profit - on one price, but not on what they've paid you. Enjoy it! :)

Why shouldn't they sell it at a profit? They are a business and not a charitable organisation.

    Not exactly the same but.....

Approx 12 years ago we had a new double glazed front door, top panel and side panel fitted by a well established local company. Most bl@@dy expensive door my wife could find I think. It was all leaded glass and looks fantastic as it should have done for £2500 ish at the time.
When fitters were leaving I asked about the bill and they said it would be sent on. Fine I thought.
The weeks went by but no bill until I decided to ring and ask them for it. Apologies were passed on and they promised to send it out straight away.
A couple of weeks later still no bill so rung again and the same thing happened.
Anyway, never got a bill so never paid and nothing has ever been said.
Even had them out to fix a hinge a few years ago and nothing was said.
£2500 better off. I did my bit and just stuck it in a savings account and forgot about it.

    Dave.
